On the eve of the beginning of the fifth and last anti-alcohol campaign in the USSR, the film by Vladimir Menshov “Love and Pigeons” was released. Actors and their characters throughout the film constantly drank alcohol, which is why the state commission was skeptical about the tape. Despite this, the audience loved the picture no less than Moscow did not believe in tears. Let's remember what is being told in “Love and Pigeons”, as well as which artists starred in this film.
The film "Love and Pigeons"
The script for the film was written based on the play of Vladimir Gurkin. This author also participated in the creation of the script.
“Love and Pigeons” became the third full-length directorial work of Vladimir Menshov. She starred in the summer and autumn of 1984. However, while preparatory work continued, an anti-alcohol campaign began in the USSR, and the film "Love and Pigeons" was in danger of being torn to pieces by censorship.
Fortunately, there was already publicity in the country, and the film was allowed to premiere, demanding some changes. In particular, I had to reduce the number of drinking scenes.
Plot
At the center of all events is the Kuzyakin rural family. The father of the family - Vasya - after a minor work injury gets a ticket to the sanatorium. There he meets an intelligent lady - Raisa Zakharovna. They spend a lot of time together, a romance is struck between vacationers, and Vasya decides to leave the family.
However, the relationship of Raisa and Vasily does not stand the test of everyday life, and the hero is trying to return to his wife and children. This reconciliation process takes about 2 months.
In the final, Vasya's forty-year-old wife, Nadia, expects a child from him, and the eldest son is taken into the army.
Movie heroes
Before considering the actors and the roles of “Love and Pigeons”, it is worth learning more about the main characters.
Vasily Kuzyakin is a rustic and good-natured forty-year-old man who is not averse to drinking, but not very often. Everyday routine dragged him on, and the only joy for Vasya is the breeding of pigeons.
However, the spouse is constantly jealous of her husband for his hobby, and birds often become causes of quarrels in the house. At the same time, acquaintance with the educated and well-groomed Raisa becomes a real holiday for the hero, and he is interested in a woman, although the initiative belongs to her more.
Nadia is a typical rural woman. All her life she took care of the house, her husband and children, so she simply did not have time for self-development. Perhaps this is precisely the reason for its limitations. Since she has no taste, no special mind or education.
Neighbor - Uncle Mitya - a smart old alcoholic, a former front-line soldier. His whole life goes through searching the calendar for a reason to drink and trying to hide it from his wife.
By nature, Baba Shura is the same Hope, just more exhausted by life and years.
Lyudka is the eldest daughter of the Kuzyakins. Beautiful and probably the most intelligent and sober in this family. She studied and worked in the city for some time. There she got married. In the future, family life did not work out, and the girl went to her relatives.
Lenka is the son of military age. A typical country guy who is fond of technology. Pretty tall for her age. Due to constant lamentations and scandals, the mother grew up quite phlegmatic.
Olya is the youngest daughter and favorite of Vasily. Because of age, she’s still silly, but very kind. Like his father, he loves pigeons.
Raisa Zakharovna - a young woman who is always under 40. Well-read, but not very smart. Basil subdued her with his devotion and admiration for her mind.
The film "Love and Pigeons": actors and main roles
Having examined the plot and the characters of the tape, it is worthwhile to find out who played in it.
Actor Alexander Mikhailov starred in the title role in Love and Pigeons. Despite his intelligence, he managed to embody on the screen the image of a typical rural peasant henpecked man.
Hope Kuzyakin was played by Nina Doroshina (“People on the Bridge”, “For Family Circumstances”). This role was the most notable achievement in the career of the actress.
Uncle Mitya was played by the famous theater and film artist Sergei Yursky (Golden Calf, Look for a Woman).
The wife of a resourceful old drunkard was performed by Natalya Tenyakova ("Elder Sister", "Green Carriage").
Considering the actors and roles in “Love and Pigeons” (there is a photo of them in the article), it is worth paying special attention to Yanina Lisovskaya, who played Lyudka. After this film, she starred for 6 years in the USSR, and in connection with its collapse, she left for Germany. There she managed to make a good career as an actress, and also established herself as an excellent theater director.
Today, Ioannina teaches acting in Germany. By the way, her colleague on the set Igor Lyakh (Lenka) also teaches the younger generation of artists today, however, he does this in his homeland, in the Shchepkinsky school.
Lada Sizonenko (Olya) after "Love and Doves" starred in several films, and then went into the modeling business.
About Lyudmila Gurchenko, who played the hometown Raisa, it is worth mentioning especially. She has scored dozens of brilliant roles in many interesting films. The most famous of them are Carnival Night, Walking, Man from Nowhere, Shadow, Straw Hat, Sky Swallows, Beloved Woman Mechanic Gavrilova, Station for Two, My Sailor , "Viva, the midshipmen!".
“Love and Doves”: actors with photos who played minor characters
Having found out who played the main characters in the film "Love and Pigeons", it is worth learning about the artists in the episodes.
A lover of beer drinking this frothy drink while the main characters sorted out their wives was played by a local resident from Medvezhyegorsk - Mikhail Kolesnikov. Due to the fact that the scene was cut at the request of censorship, the artist’s “feat” remained behind the scenes - he managed to drink 5 glasses of beer in a few seconds.
The names of most of the other actors from the episodes are unknown. An exception is the boy by the tree, played by Konstantin Mikhailov.
Considering the actors and the roles of “Love and Pigeons”, one cannot fail to mention that the director of the project - Vladimir Menshov - also starred in several episodes. He played the leading quadrille with lush curled bangs.
Entertaining facts
After reviewing the actors and roles in Love and Pigeons, it’s worth to find out some interesting details about this tape.
Initially, the movie was supposed to consist of 2 parts. However, due to the lack of film, some of the scenes were erased, and the tape itself turned into a one-part film.
Jurassic and Tenyakova are married not only in cinema, but also in real life. They have a daughter, Dasha, and two grandchildren, George and Lesha.
For the role, Vasya Menshov initially invited Jurassic, but later realized that the artist was too intelligent and complicated for this character. However, not wanting to part with his beloved actor, Menshov instructed Sergei Yuryevich to play Uncle Mitya.
Tenyakova is 10 years younger than Doroshina. So that it was invisible to the audience, in the movie her heroine was artificially aged.
The age difference between Jurassic and Mikhailov is also small, only 9 years old. Therefore, Uncle Mitya also had to add a couple of decades due to makeup.
During the filming of the fall of the hero Mikhailov into the water from the pier, the artist almost drowned.
Initially, Menshov wanted to shoot in Siberia. But he never found a suitable place there. But it was possible to do this in Karelia, in Medvezhyegorsk. However, in order to turn the local house into a Siberian one, I had to cover it with a tree.
