Rood Gullit was born in Amsterdam on September 1, 1962. This is a famous Dutch soccer player who, at the end of his professional career, became an excellent coach. He is one of the best football players of the 20th century. And of course, this man entered FIFA-100. He has a huge number of achievements and a very interesting career, so it’s worth briefly telling about all this.
Young years
Rood Gullit is the son of an emigrant from Suriname and his mistress named Maria Dil. The football player’s father had three children and an official family. True, he provided the ore together with his mother in full. Often a boy even met with his sisters and brother.
And Rud Gullit began with street football. He lived in the Jordan region and it was in his yards that he chased the ball with local boys. And his first team was a youthful FC called “Meerboys”. Rood came there in 1970. But when he was 10 years old, he moved with his mother to Aud West - another area of Amsterdam. The former conditions were terrible - the room was only 6.5 x 4 m. But even after moving, Rood continued to play football. Interestingly, it was in childhood that he met a boy named Frank Rikard. And he, as everyone knows, later became a real star of Dutch football.
The way little Rood Gullit played for the local ICE team could not go unnoticed. This was seen by the coaches of the Dutch youth team. So the boy was invited to the composition, where he began to engage in a professional manner. Then, after some time, representatives of Ajax contacted him. But since they demanded the arrival of the young man with mom and dad, the contract was not signed. After all, his parents worked and were very busy. Ajax did not agree to the single visit of a teenager. Now Rood Gullit says that since then he has not heard anything more stupid - the club wanted him, but he had to come with his parents.
Club career
In 1978, the player began to speak for “Harlem”. His professional debut in the first team took place at the age of 16, which made him the youngest player in the history of the top division. Rud Gullit showed himself perfectly - he scored goals and made assists. The head coach even called him “Dutch Duncan Edwards”.
In 1982, he joined the Feyenoord team for $ 550,000. Together with this club he won the Cup and the national championship. In 1984, the young man was recognized as the best footballer in the Netherlands. The next year he moved to PSV. There he was again recognized as the best in Holland. And it was in PSV that the footballer showed himself as a world-class player. There he was already noticed by really famous clubs. Therefore, in 1987, Rud Gullit accepted the offer from “Milan” (they paid $ 8,900,000 for it) and left for Italy. In the first season, he won with a scudetto team.
Peak of success

In the first season, he and the team won the Italian Cup. Many fans of the team fell in love with Rud Gullit. The best goals of that season became significant for the team - for example, the ball scored into the goal of “Milan” (the former club) and became decisive in the final match for the Italian Cup. The Dutchman showed a very convincing and technical game - so AC Milan invited him back.

Coaching
Rood Gullit is a football player who has become a legend. This is one of those times when a great fielder has become a great coach. In 1996, he led Chelsea while continuing to play. In his very first season, he and the club won the FA Cup. Only in the following year, when Chelsea stood firmly in second place in the Premier League and made it to the quarter finals of every English cup, Ore was fired. What plunged him into shock. He could not even think that the people with whom he had to work and communicate daily would do this to him.
But then he began to coach Newcastle United and led the team to the final of the Country Cup. Then he headed the youth team of the Netherlands, and in 2005/06 he headed the “Feyenoord”. He coached the Los Angeles Galaxy for another year. And then - went to Russia! Where for about a year he coached the players of “Terek”. However, he was criticized and fired - they say, the team performed with very poor results. But it was hardly his fault - after all, he is a good coach, and this is evidenced not only by the results of previous teams, but also personal achievements, of which there are more than a dozen.
