Business - what is it? Meaning and Interpretation

When adult life begins, a person ceases to belong to himself. He immediately has a lot of worries. Of course, most of these anxieties and experiences are related to work. A person who is in a hurry somewhere all the time and every day schedules a schedule for the day, we call “business”. But we will talk about another adjective, which for some reason gives rise to frivolous associations. It will be about the definition of "businesslike." This is our object of study.

Strange, but if you do not look into the dictionary, it seems that the adjective considered by us is of some kind of almost frivolous character. The fault is all due to the suffix "-ovit-". But this should not confuse the reader. The meaning of the adjective is the most serious and positive. The dictionary states the following: "sensible and serious, enterprising."

I recall the film "Office Romance" and a quote from it: "Adventurous, yet entrepreneurial." Of course, in this case, the synonym for the word is used in an ironic sense, but seriously speaking, for a successful person, such a characteristic is, of course, praise.

Why is the ideology of success not taking root on our land?

No, of course, we all want a lot of money, and to be loved. And we are not at all against business, as well as business people. It's clear. But for some reason, the Russians can’t take this whole big game seriously. It seems that we have found a clue: everything depends on the language, or rather, in one phrase - "business sausage." It is not clear where this wonderful phraseological unit came from, but there are different versions. For example, there is the verb "sausage", that is, "spend time in the bustle." It is sometimes assumed that sausage is just such a pair to the adjective to emphasize the frivolity of a person who wants, on the contrary, to seem terribly serious.

Yes, the second version is interesting. Remember also that we have a "Doctor's" sausage. And if there is a "Doctor's", then why can't there be a brand of "Business" sausage? By the way, this is almost a ready-made business idea, because sales will be incredible due to the intrinsic Russian irony. In a word, the treasure is for business people, and it is completely free.

There is nothing wrong with being busy, but for some reason many people equate “employment”, “seriousness” and “success” for some reason. And the lack of time is considered an indicator of adulthood. Children, as you know, really want to grow up, and then, reaching their goal, they strive back to that blissful state from which they came out. After all, in the adult world there is nothing interesting. Having lived a bit of adult life, inevitably you begin to understand Peter Pan. This is all to the fact that if a business person is an adult ideal, men and women in principle have no incentive to grow up, so we now have so many infantile people. But this is not the main reason why the ideology of success does not want to take root. The main problem is our self-irony.

We examined the meaning of the word “businesslike” and, hopefully, entertained the reader a little.
