Many people are puzzled by the issue of how to get a visa to Portugal. Especially this topic is of concern to those citizens who need to go to this state for work or on vacation, but it does not take so long to get the coveted stamp. So, you should talk about this in as much detail as possible.
Tourist info
So, the story about how to make a visa, you need to start with information for tourists. First of all, a person must find the address of a consulate, embassy or a special center. And then you need to provide the necessary documents there.
So, the first thing you need is a passport (which must remain valid for at least three more months after the person returns from his trip). You will also need to make a photocopy of the first page of this document. You will need copies of the pages of a common passport. You need to xerocopy those that have some data on them. Registration, marital status, personal information - all this is necessary. And finally, visa application forms. Two pieces are needed. They can be filled both on a computer or manually. The main thing is to write everything in either Portuguese or English. It is possible in Russian, but only in Latin letters.
And finally, the photos. There should be three shots, and their size - s 4 centimeters. Two images are glued to the questionnaires, and the third is attached to them.
Warranty
Many people have heard about how to make a visa. In fact, the embassy will need to provide a huge amount of documents. And one of the most important is the confirmation that a person is able to sponsor his trip. In other words, that he will not be poor during his stay in the territory of this state.
For a visa to Portugal to be issued without any problems, confirmation of the hotel reservation will be required. It is advisable to have a fax where the fact of payment is confirmed. A printout will also work, but only from international sites where a generally accepted reservation system operates. It is important that the confirmation contains the details of the hotel, reservation number, as well as the logo of the site. And, of course, the names and surnames of those people who go on a trip. If a person has a voucher, then you need to show the original at the embassy, where there is a stamp of a travel company.
Other documents
You will also need to provide a copy of the round-trip tickets. If a person needs an urgent visa to Portugal, you need to show fully paid tickets. In other cases, it is not necessary to deposit money for them. If a person goes on a trip with his car, then you need to show a copy of the technical passport of the vehicle, your rights and the international car insurance policy. A copy must also be made.
Health insurance is also a mandatory document, the same as the application form for a visa to Portugal, and the rest of the above papers. The consulate must show both the original and a copy. The policy must be valid for the entire duration of the trip.
And, of course, you will need to provide a certificate of employment. Seniority, salary, position - this should be indicated in that document. Details of the company in which the citizen works, date of issue, reference number - all of the above should also be present in the content. And finally, the seal of the company and the head of the organization - without this in any way.
Special cases
If a person who is a private entrepreneur needs a visa to Portugal, he will also have to show a copy of the certificate of registration of his company, as well as the original certificate taken from the tax office. Non-working pensioners only need to show their pension certificate and a copy of it, of course. But you will also need a certificate from the place of work of the person who takes responsibility for paying the expenses of a pensioner. A copy of his passport will also be required.
Financial guarantees
If a student visa is issued to Portugal, then none of the above is necessary. But you need a different package of documents. This is a birth certificate (both the original and its copy), a student ID card, a certificate from the dean’s office that he is studying. What about financial expenses? Everything is the same here as in the case of a pensioner. I need a certificate from the place of work of the person who will sponsor the student’s trip, and his official statement with the signature. A photocopy of your passport is also required. For schoolchildren - everything is the same, only without a student card.
Other working people should show a bank statement. It must have money on it. At least 50 euros per day. On the first day of stay, the amount is calculated as 75 euros.
Private visits
For people who go on a trip to relatives (or friends), the Portuguese Embassy has other conditions. Such citizens need to be invited. It is made out by people to whom the person goes on a visit. Make an invitation on a special form Termo de responsabilidade. And besides this, you must specify the ID of the person who is the host. And the rest is the same set of documents.
If a person has booked an apartment through Airbnb, then payment confirmation is required. A printout made from a bank account, or the check itself, is suitable.
Ride with children
Some people decide to travel with their children to such a wonderful country like Portugal. A visa for Russians in this case becomes difficult in terms of obtaining. In fact, everything is not so difficult, you just need to provide a more voluminous package of documents and spend more time collecting them.
Children who have reached 14 years old need to get their personal passport. But, besides him, you also need a birth certificate, as well as two visa application forms. The child does not sign them - for him this is done by his guardian or parent. You will also need two color pictures of the established format (3 by 4 cm).
In the event that the child leaves for Portugal with one of the parents, then a notarized permission from the second parent is also necessary, and, in addition, a copy of his civil passport. The Portuguese embassy makes the same conditions if the child travels with an escort. Only in this case, permission and copies are requested from both parents. And from additional documents you need a marriage certificate and photocopies of foreign passports. Originals are also presented.
Price and Dates
Now it’s worth saying a few words about the validity of the visa and its cost. So, the price consists of the service fee required by visa centers (through which registration is a much more expensive process), and of the consular fee. If a person deals with this issue through the embassy or consulate directly, then no service charges need to be paid.
And so the price is standard - 35 euros. But this is a short-term visa, standard. The validity of the visa lasts 30 days in this case. Payment must be made at the rate established by the consulate, but exclusively in rubles. If a visa needs to be done urgently, the amount doubles. Payment, by the way, is not taken from children who are entered in the parental passport.
Interestingly, if the applicant had not had any visas before, then they would give him the usual 30-day visa. But the length of stay will correspond to the number of days indicated on the hotel’s reservation. If a person already had a Schengen visa before, they can give him permission to stay in the country for a year or six months. But at the same time, a person can stay in the country for no more than 90 days per entry. Thus, if he needs to stay there, he will have to leave for his homeland, and then only return.
