Children's emergency room is a medical institution whose main purpose is the diagnosis and treatment of various injuries in people under 18 years of age.
Why is it needed?
Children's emergency room can be both large enough and can be one single room. It is necessary in order to provide assistance as quickly as possible in the event of any injuries in children. Here, the child can clean the wound, treat it with special antiseptic agents, as well as bandage the damaged area. Often this is quite sufficient.
Unfortunately, injuries sometimes require more serious treatment. If the children's emergency room is located outside the hospital, the child should be sent to a specialized hospital. There he will be provided with full medical assistance. If necessary, trauma surgeons will perform the necessary surgical intervention. Thanks to modern tools and the unique regeneration rate of the child’s body, with a rational approach, such negative consequences do not arise for such babies.
At the same time, if the health worker in the children's emergency room underestimates the dangers of damage and does not refer the child to the hospital for proper treatment, then the baby may have huge problems in the future. The fact is that when the bones are damaged, their growth is disturbed. In some cases, the fractures are fused independently, but it is extremely rare for such a connection to be physiological. In all other cases, there is a significant decrease in the growth rate of the damaged bone, or even an incorrect fracture fusion. All this requires quite complicated and traumatic surgical procedures for the child’s body, as well as a long rehabilitation period.
So, a truly important task is assigned to the children's emergency room for the timely detection, treatment and, if necessary, transfer of small patients to specialized hospitals.
When should I contact?
Here you can ask for help with any injuries to the child. At the same time, it is worth remembering that a children's emergency room works around the clock only if it is located directly in the structure of the hospital. So if you have injuries at night, you need to go there.
Naturally, with injuries such as abrasion or bruising (if it is not about the head), assistance will be provided on the spot. If doctors, for example, reveal a fracture, then they will refer a small patient to a specialized hospital, where all necessary measures will be taken. The main signs of fractures are the presence of mobility of the limbs in those places where it should not be.
It should be remembered that often in schools there is also an emergency room. Children's clinic also has it. So the kids have every opportunity to get first aid almost immediately after getting injured and going to the children's emergency room. Moreover, in most cases this is quite sufficient, especially if the damage was not very serious.
