Chkalov Aviation Novosibirsk Plant has been producing motor boats popular in the USSR since the 60s. They have become very popular in our country because of their low weight and good maneuverability. The motor boat Ob (and today we are talking about it) was created for fishing and boat trips.
Her case is made of duralumin sheets D16. The bottom has a thickness of 2 mm, sides - 1.5 mm. The case is riveted with putty and gasket. The Ob boat needed constant maintenance of the hull seams that were subject to divergence. There are boules on the sides, which make the boat more stable and add buoyancy to the vessel. "Ob" became popular among lovers of water recreation and anglers very quickly. It began to be widely used for long-distance sports swimming and as a pleasure boat. It is unpretentious in operation, has a small weight, which greatly facilitates its storage on shore.
The Ob boat has an automobile layout. The steering wheel is located on the left. The full width of the cockpit has a sofa. A two-section windshield protects passengers from the wind. In the bow compartment there is a small trunk. To inspect fortika there is a hatch with a sealed cover, which is fixed with screws. This model entered the trade without an awning and with minimal equipment. Production ceased due to the launch of the new model.
The Ob - M boat was presented to the public in 1975. This model has increased pitching. This boat is allowed to go up to three points and three kilometers offshore. Blocks of foam, which are laid along the lower part of the fort and the sides, provide its unsinkability. Under the bow deck there is a luggage compartment, which is hermetically sealed by a hatch. The same compartment is in the stern. It was created to store fuel and is a full-time tank and four 10-liter canisters.

The experience of water motors and customer reviews showed that the Ob - M boat is an unsuccessful model. During operation, it became clear that the longitudinal set and planshir from the dural corner are subject to corrosion. This forced the plant to begin designing a new model. So there was a boat "Ob - 3".
Starting work on a new design, the specialists of the famous Novosibirsk plant tried to take into account the proposals of the owners to fix all the shortcomings of previous models.
In the new model, new trimaran contours have appeared, which are closer to the stern, turning into contours - the “gull wing”. They significantly improved hydrodynamic characteristics.
The cockpit of the new model has four soft comfortable chairs that can easily be transformed into berths. From the wind and spray passengers protect the windshield, which is installed on the deck. The boat is equipped with an awning that can be easily removed. The tent frame is made of thin-walled pipes. The Ob-3 boat in the kit has oars, running lights, a scoop, and a repair kit. Even with a modern framework, this boat is a quality means of moving through the water.
