“More often”: together or separately? How does spelling depend on part of speech?

The sound of many words in the Russian language is confusing. You can know exactly how one or another definition is written until you find its full analogue. In some cases, there is a problem with writing adverbs: together "more often" or separately? And what if through a hyphen? Or are we now discussing a road through a grove between villages? Getting out of the intricacies of prepositions, prefixes and homonyms will help knowledge of the basic rules of the language.

And what is there in the forest?

First of all, you need to pay attention to the context. It follows from it what part of the speech they say, what linguists rely on when they indicate the correct answer. Perhaps the text of the fabulous work tells about a journey through the dense forest, where Baba Yaga lives? Try to ask questions:

  1. Why?
  2. Where?

If they are relevant, harmoniously fit into the proposal, then you have a noun with a preposition. They need to be broken by a space, because at any time you can insert an adjective to describe the beauty of nature. Write separately! It is united more often or as an adverb, or it does not appear in the Russian language at all.

Although the thicket is beautiful, it is dangerous to roam it alone

How to calculate an adverb?

If there is no context or it is minimal, turn to other knowledge. The classic dialect is paired or implies the presence of a verb, some action:

  • soared high;
  • (approached) close, etc.

It describes the characteristics of what is happening. And if you want to increase the frequency of events, then choose the following chain:

  • frequent - high-quality adjective;
  • often - a one-root dialect;
  • more often - a comparative degree.

In this case, the form of the comparative degree with the prefix is displayed logically. Before my eyes immediately appears the correct spelling "more often", which is dictated by the language. Everyone wants:

  • n. meet friends;
  • n. to rest;
  • n. receive a bonus, etc.

Thanks to positive images, remember the word without difficulty.

Why is there no hyphen?

Often words with a little dash. It looks unusual, cuts into memory, but by what sign happens - not everyone remembers. If we are talking about adverbs, then along with the prefix, the word should have the following suffixes:

  • th;
  • -his;
  • -ki;
  • -and.

In our case, the ending is strictly in -sche, there is not the slightest hint of suffixes, and therefore the hyphen will be superfluous. It’s easy to remember.

If you read more often, you can develop a fantasy and remember a lot of words to write without errors

How to be in practice?

When choosing a spelling together or separately for "more often", remember the difference between nouns and adverbs. Think about it: do you describe the terrain or some property of the action? This will seem difficult only in the first stages. Practice regularly, and soon your written speech will approach the ideal.
