Already in the ancient world there were coats of arms. Hints of their existence are found in symbolic representations of peoples. Real coats of arms appeared and took root much later. These were patrimonial and trade banners, frontiers. They symbolized property. Even later, coats of arms began to be depicted on coins, medals and seals.
What is a coat of arms and why is it needed?
The simplest definition of a coat of arms is spelled out in Ozhegov's dictionary. It says that the coat of arms is a kind of emblem of a state, city, estate or clan. This emblem is depicted on flags, paper money and coins, seals, important government papers and documents. Every existing state, city and district has its own emblem.
What is depicted on the arms?
To accurately describe what is depicted, you need to know that the coats of arms are divided into ranks. Usually depicted are shield holders, mottos, mantle, crown, crest and helmet, bastion, heraldic shield. But not all of these elements are necessarily displayed.
The large coat of arms shows all the elements described above, on average, only the basic ones. On the small - a shield or crown with a shield.
Coats of arms are divided not only by rank, but also by type:
- state;
- land;
- corporate (this is the coat of arms of an educational institution, order, military unit, company, club);
- patrimonial (peasant, noble, civil).
On patrimonial emblems represent the symbol of the family or clan, decals. The family symbol does not change for centuries, is inherited. It unites generations through distances and times.
Russian coat of arms
On the main emblem of our country, as everyone knows, there is an eagle with two heads. He sits on a French shield (heraldic) in red. In the clutches of a bird, a scepter, orb. Above each head is a small crown, and above both heads there is one large, connected by a ribbon. On the chest of the eagle there is a red shield, on which there is an image of a horseman piercing with a spear a terrible black dragon.
Moscow coat of arms
The coat of arms of the main city of the country can be seen on the coat of arms of Russia. It is his image that is on the shield of the eagle. Who is this horseman? In ancient times, after the Battle of Kulikovo, a horseman began to appear on the arms, who kills the serpent with a spear. The people associated him with the ruler - the king. But foreign ambassadors saw St. George in this horseman. No matter how our people argued, in the future Peter the Great himself agreed with this statement.
At all times, the emblem changed with each ruler. Something was added to him. The emblem, which is currently the Moscow symbolism, was approved in 1993. He knows us well. But do you know the coats of arms of the districts of Moscow? Each of them is interesting, different history of origin. Consider the most popular.
On the emblem of which district of Moscow is a dancing girl?
Now you will find the answer to this question. Coats of arms of Moscow districts, like others, preserve the history and memory of past events. So the girl symbolizes something long gone. This is festivities, the seventh Thursday from Easter (Semik). This is what the emblem resembles. Maryina Roshcha is a district of Moscow, which is located in the Northeast District.
This area received its name thanks to the grove that remained from the deforestation of a large forest in the eighteenth century. The region itself has been mentioned since the sixteenth century, but entered the city line officially only in the twentieth century, in 1917.
The story reminiscent of the coat of arms is Maryina Roshcha, as it was in ancient times. On the shield of the Moscow form of gold color, a meadow with green grass is depicted. A girl in a red dress is dancing in this meadow, holding a red handkerchief in one hand. Her head is decorated with a wreath of wildflowers. Branches “grow” from the upper edge of the shield, they form a circle, heading towards each other. On the branches there is bright green foliage.
Kuntsevo (Moscow)
Kuntsevo district in the nineteenth century began to be called the suburban area of the Moscow region. All coats of arms of Moscow districts are characterized by liveliness and a variety of colors, the symbol of this region was no exception. Once the Kuntsevo district belonged to the Setunsky camp, in which there were dense, especially beautiful forests. Silver spruces depicted on a green background are a symbol of the very forests that the Kuntsevo district was once famous for. Moscow to this day breathes the clean fresh air of this area. This purity is depicted in blue at the top of the coat of arms.
On the territory of the district in ancient times ran the postal tract. Now on this place is located Franco Street. The memory of the tract was preserved in the white horn (postal horn) depicted on the coat of arms. This horn can be seen in the upper triangle - a symbol of clean air. There is also a yellow rafter on the coat of arms. It was placed in reference to the fact that the Smolensk railway was once built here. Gray stumps will remind you of the fate of the forests that were cut down in order to build roads in their place and expand coal mining.
The name of the district is symbolized by the main character of the coat of arms - the golden marten. This little animal sits in the center of the image.
Tverskoy district of Moscow
This area is the heart of the capital, located in its central part. Its history began in the twelfth century, it is on its territory that the Kremlin is located. Interestingly, the Kremlin is not part of the Tver region, although it is located there, but is a separate territorial unit. Since this area is located in the very center, all innovations came to Russia through it. Thus, it became the first place where trams and electric lighting appeared on the streets.
The coat of arms of the Tver district of Moscow looks like a shield of Moscow form. The green triangle drawn at the bottom of the coat of arms is a symbol of a high hill. A monastery was erected on this hill. The red background is the color of the coat of arms of the city of Tver. Not only the name, but also the many events taking place there connects the district with the Tver road. Tverskaya Street and Tsvetnoy Boulevard are displayed on the coat of arms with two golden pillars, as the main highways in the area.
In the central part of the coat of arms is a wreath - a symbol of art. Also, this wreath recalls that all the main theaters, museums and exhibition halls of Moscow are located in the Tver region. Anvil will remind of the masters of the Kuznetskaya settlement, and a bright fire will hint to young people that there are a lot of educational and cultural institutions in the Tver region.
Under the shield is a gold ribbon on which is written "Tverskaya". This is a truly full-fledged coat of arms, which displays the entire culture and memory of the area, you only need to correctly interpret the symbolism.
District Koptevo
The first mention of Koptevo is found in the letter of Prince Shuisky Dmitry. This document dates from the ninety-fifth and ninety-sixth years of the sixteenth century. It refers to the replacement of the village of Toporkovo with Koptevo wastelands with the village of Velyaminovo (currently Vladykino). As historians describe, Koptevo was a separate small village. The name has not changed since those ancient times. The district is located in the Northern district of the capital.
Like other coats of arms of Moscow regions, the symbol of this region has the appearance of a shield of Moscow form. It is cut into two fields - blue and yellow. The yellow box is at the top. Coat of arms of Koptevo is a picture of modern life; here you will not see reminders of the past. Perhaps this is due to the fact that Koptevo was just a village, there were no particularly significant events. A stork is depicted on a yellow background, the color of its plumage is natural. This bird symbolizes stable family relations, as well as family ties of many residents of the region and a fairly large number in the territory of pre-school, school and other educational institutions.
The sun with wavy rays is a symbol of cleanliness and well-groomed area, enlightenment of people.
Krylatskoe
The Krylatskoye district is located in the western part of Moscow. Previously, another name was known - Kryletsky. It is mentioned from the beginning of the fifteenth century, once Krylatskoye was in the possession of the first of the Romanov clan.
The coat of arms of the Krylatskoye district is beautiful, resembles a picture from a fairy tale about Pinocchio. In the center of the coat of arms there is an image of a large golden key; it says that many residential buildings are being erected in Krylatskoye. Urban planning for the area comes first. The silver rafter in the form of zakomara (decoration for the porch) serves as a reminder of the first name - Kryletsky. The green field, which is shown below, is the area’s nature reserves, and the beating silver spring on it is a natural spring of holy water, a place of pilgrimage for many people.
