SDA: lane traffic in and out of town

On the territory of the Russian Federation, the movement of motor vehicles is carried out on the right side. Transport can move in two, three or more rows, depending on the number of lanes on the roadway. Moreover, in some sections of the road the movement can be one-way, somewhere two-way, but there is a reverse type of movement. The traffic regulations on traffic lanes are explained in clause 9. Traffic is regulated not only by road markings, but also by special signs.

Traffic lane traffic

Subclause 9.1

The number of lanes for traffic is determined by the markings on the roadway, as well as by signs 5.15.1-5.15.2 and 5.15.7-5.15.8. If there are no signs and markings, then the movement is carried out taking into account the width of the road, the dimensions of the transport, in compliance with the interval. The side for oncoming traffic is 1/2 of the road located on the left side, the broadening points are not taken into account.

Lane traffic in the city

Subclause 9.2

According to traffic rules in traffic in lanes on a road with two or more streams, you can not go into oncoming lanes.

Typically, these roads have four lanes. In the SDA, access to the oncoming traffic lane is prohibited, since there are two one-way zones that can be advanced.

A roadway with four or more lanes has a double solid demarcation, which is strictly forbidden to cross. There is also a clear idea of how lane traffic is performed in the city. The SDA also provides for traffic on four or more lane roads outside of settlements.

If there are two lanes of the same direction in the city, you can move in any lane. You can turn from the far right lane only to the right. From the extreme left - to the left and in the opposite direction. Driving directly permitted from any lane. If there are three lanes, then from the middle turns they are allowed only if there are appropriate signs, in other cases, traffic along the middle strip is allowed in the forward direction.

Subclause 9.3

Driving along a two-way road with three lanes is only possible on the far right side. The middle lane is designed to ensure safety during overtaking. On this strip, you can overtake from either side of the road. Also, the middle lane is intended for a U-turn, a left, a detour. Departure to the extreme lane is prohibited.

Traffic violation

Subclause 9.4

Outside the city, traffic on a two or more lane road involves traffic only on the far right lane. Other travel is prohibited with free lane rights. But in settlements, drivers can use any lane for traffic. You can change it to perform a turn, perform a U-turn, stop, detour.

In a three-lane movement, taking the leftmost position is only possible if the other two are busy. Also, this strip is intended for overtaking, turning, turning. To make it easier for drivers, new signs have been developed.

New signs

Subclause 9.5

Traffic rules for traffic lanes are regulated by traffic rules , the speed of which, for technical reasons, cannot be higher than 40 km / h. Such a technique should only move along the extreme lane to the right, except in cases of overtaking, rearrangement before making a turn, turn, stop.

Subclause 9.6

In traffic rules , lane traffic with heavy congestion involves travel on tram tracks. The rules say that passing along tram lines is allowed, but only on condition that lanes for the movement of non-rail vehicles are loaded. With this movement, the car should not interfere with the tram. But leaving oncoming tram tracks is strictly prohibited.

When making a turn, the transport should be reconstructed on the tram tracks of a passing direction and turn off from them. If the road is regulated by road signs indicating the direction of movement, then turning off the tracks is prohibited. In such cases, turning can only be done by crossing tram tracks at the intersection.

Traffic intersection with tram line

Subclause 9.7

When dividing the roadway into lanes with special road markings, cars must move strictly along the designated lane in accordance with the notation. You can not run into the markup, although this action is permissible when rebuilding or overtaking.

Subclause 9.8

Particular attention is paid to reverse movement. Such sections of roads are dangerous.

There are two types of marking of the reverse strip: a double dashed line is located on both sides. With this type of marking, the reverse strip is used only for traffic when traffic lights are working. If the rightmost lane is separated from the reversible dashed line, then when the traffic light is off, the use of the reverse lane for advancing is allowed.

When driving on a road with reverse traffic, drivers must occupy the far right lane. After making sure that you can move along the reverse lane, you can perform a rebuild.

Subclause 9.9

Under traffic regulations, traffic on the oncoming lane, along sidewalks, curbs, and pedestrian paths is prohibited. In these places, only special equipment, such as utilities, are allowed to move. Riding on the sidewalk and curb is allowed only for loading and unloading cargo, if it is not possible to drive to the destination in other ways. With this option, the movement of other road users should be safe.

Subclause 9.10

When driving on the road, drivers must observe the distance. For this, a lateral interval and the observance of safe traffic between vehicles are provided. The distance depends on the speed of movement. In the calculations, an adjustment is necessarily carried out in the direction of increasing the interval with mixed traffic, poor road.

Band for route facilities

Subclause 9.11

Outside the city on a two-lane road, drivers with a speed limit, long-distance drivers must observe the distance. It should be such that other vehicles can freely overtake, get ahead.

Subclause 9.12

In two-way traffic, if there are curbstones, bridge supports and other dangerous elements on the road, drivers should go around on the right side. A detour to the left is possible, but only with the appropriate signposts.

If there are any obstacles in the middle of the road in the form of pedestals and other road elements, in the absence of road markings, which indicate the direction of movement in the lane, the driver should bypass such structures only to the right of the obstacles. If a sign is placed on the element showing the side of the detour, then it is performed in accordance with the directions of the sign.

This video more clearly shows how you can move in lanes in accordance with paragraph 9 of the SDA.

Violations

A fine and other types of punishment for violation of traffic rules in lanes are provided. In the case of crossing a solid marking line, and even more so when crossing a double solid line, the deprivation of a driver's license for a period of 6 months is provided. The most severe violation of traffic rules is a trip to the oncoming traffic lane. With such a violation, you will have to forget about the driver’s license.
