Today we offer a closer look at the fate and career of a businessman and diplomat named Igor Keblushek. He is familiar to our compatriots as an actor who performed the role of Mr. X in the film “Princess of the Circus”.
Keblushek Igor: biography
The future actor, businessman and diplomat was born on September 15, 1958 in a small Slovak town called Gandlova. His mother was Russian by nationality, originally from the town of Kulotino, located near the former Leningrad - now St. Petersburg. She died quite early. My father was a Slovak nationality and worked as a diplomat. The boy spent his childhood in Africa and Austria, where the head of the family was sent to serve by the government of Czechoslovakia. Igor has a younger brother named Andrei. Interestingly, the marriage of his parents was one of the first interethnic marriages in the Soviet Union: they got married in 1956, immediately after the sensational XX Congress of the Communist Party.
Adolescence
Both Igor’s mother and father were graduates of MGIMO. And the young man after leaving school also decided to follow in the footsteps of his parents, so the question of choosing a university was not before him. Moreover, Igor already had all the makings of a future diplomat. In his student days, the young man was a diligent student and graduated from MGIMO with honors.
Igor Keblushek: photos, filming a movie
During his studies at the university, the young man was spotted by the film director Svetlana Druzhinina and invited her to the main role in the film. This choice was primarily due to the exceptional external data of Keblushek. The young man was thinking about refusing an attractive offer, but his father told him that not every actor could be a diplomat, but every diplomat should be able to be an actor.
Filming lasted several months. The performer of the role of the mysterious Mr. X then graduated from the fourth year of university. He did not have much time to work in the cinema, since he had to prepare for exams. So, the car of the film studio took Igor from the student hostel in Cheryomushki around 10 pm, and he came back at two in the morning. Despite the fact that at first Keblushek was not enthusiastic about the role of the actor, he gradually got a taste, and therefore tried his best to achieve an excellent result. Russian grandmother, as well as Igor’s aunts and uncles, were very proud of the young man and supported him as much as they could. The mother of the hero of our story was delighted. Despite the fact that at that time she was already overtaken by a serious ailment, she came to Moscow to support her son and see his work. Interestingly, Igor was only the “face” of Mr. X. Indeed, in the film he did not speak with his own voice, but another person sang the songs he sang.
It should be noted that the unprofessional actor Igor Keblushek incomparably played the role of the character assigned to him, which quickly made him very popular in the USSR. When the "Circus Princess" was released in 1982, the lead actor in this film was preparing for the final exams. But due to the fact that the fans literally did not give him a pass, he had to move out of the student dormitory. Despite such success and the mass of proposals that followed him for filming in various films, Igor Keblushek firmly decided to connect his life with the career of a diplomat. He never considered himself a star, and remembers moments of glory with restraint.
Career
After graduating from MGIMO, Igor Keblushek spent 10 years in the diplomatic service. At the same time, he worked for four years at the Czech embassy in Brussels, the capital of Belgium. However, the collapse of the Soviet Union put an end to his career as a diplomat. The fact is that at that time everyone who studied in the USSR was suspected of being connected with the KGB and removed from their posts. As a result, after the collapse of Czechoslovakia, Keblushek resigned from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and assumed Czech citizenship.
Business
After the collapse of his diplomatic career and the collapse of his native country, Igor had no choice but to look for something else for himself. He was not taken aback and went into his own business. Thanks to his natural charm, sociability and tact, the former diplomat and actor was able to organize several fairly successful projects. Today Igor Keblushek is a successful businessman. He runs two companies, one of which is engaged in advertising, and the other in the production of food additives.
Personal life
Igor Keblushek was married twice. In his first marriage he had a son named Andrei. Today Keblushek lives in Prague with his second wife named Renata, Czech by nationality. Happy spouses raise their son Christian. It is interesting that Igor’s family does not even suspect how popular he was at one time in the USSR, because in Czechoslovakia a film with his participation was never shown. According to Keblushek himself, when he once gave his son a look at the “Princess of the Circus”, he was completely unimpressed by the picture.
