Biography

Catherine's birthday fell on November 8, 1985. The hometown for the actress is Kotlas, located in the Arkhangelsk region. However, her childhood passed in Samara, where the family moved almost immediately after the birth of her daughter. The girl tried herself in drawing, swimming and dancing, but did not get pleasure from it. Having become a first grader, Catherine began attending a music school and performing in a choir. Later, the girl switched to classical and pop vocals, classes which brought her prizes in competitions.

At the gymnasium, she studied in depth French, English and Latin. At school age, she managed to go through a hard casting for the main role in the musical “Another World”. Thanks to this event, the girl finally decided on the profession. Going to Moscow, Ekaterina Olkina entered GITIS (workshop of A. Barmak). The young student planned to play exclusively in the theater, but the teacher was pushing her student to work in the film industry.

Olkina Ekaterina is the wife of composer and singer Ivan Zamotaev. The couple first met at a film festival. Catherine and Ivan were in a relationship long before the wedding. In the fall of 2015, the actress became a mother.

On weekends, Ekaterina Olkina loves to drive an SUV and watch movies all day. The actress once said that she prefers to visit a variety of exhibitions and excursions, rather than travel to the sea.
