About the protagonist
Ethan Matthew Hunt was born in Madison, Wisconsin, the only child of Margaret and Nathan Hunt. He spent his childhood at a dairy farm in Middlefield, New York. He was fond of sports, played for the school's baseball team. Upon graduation, Ethan enlisted in the infantry forces with the intention of becoming a ranger. After completing basic and airborne training, he was trained under the ranger training program. Upon completion, he was assigned to the third battalion of the 75th regiment under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Daniel David Briggs. On duty, he participated in hostilities during Operation Desert Storm. After four years in the army, Ethan Hunt is studying at the University of Pennsylvania in a double specialization - mechanical engineering and international relations.

The picture was shot in 1996 by director Brian De Palma. The main character of the film, CIA agent Hunt, is in a very difficult situation - he is suspected of betrayal. It is known that Ethan’s team was sent to Prague to prevent the leak of information about American secret agents in eastern Europe. It turns out that one of the US diplomats decided to sell the full list of agents to the head of the syndicate for illegal arms trade - no one Max. The purpose of the operation was to stop the traitor, but everything went wrong. As a result, the team and its leader Jim Phelps died. Only Ethan Hunt and Phelps' wife Agent Claire survived. Having met in a cafe with a connected Kitridge, Hunt discovers that the list was fictitious and was intended to capture the traitor in the secret service. Since Ethan is considered the only survivor, suspicion falls on him, and in order to regain his trust and an honest name, Hunt needs to find a real "mole".
