Reviews about the picture
Reviews, a description of the movie "Cube" allow you to make a full impression of him. Spectators and critics gave him very high marks, calling them an outstanding example of popular science fiction.
Some reviews noted that the movie about the futuristic prison was the creepiest film ever made in Canada. Political allegories, intrigue, sudden plot twists, ambiguity of what is happening on the screen, and original musical accompaniment deserved special praise.
But among the shortcomings, reviewers, speaking in reviews of the movie "Cube", were forced to note weak dialogs, as well as the fact that the tape "fizzles out" about an hour after the start. Only with great difficulty did she manage to reach the successful finish line and not disappoint the audience with her ending.
The second part of
Reviews about the movie "Cube" were so enthusiastic that in 2002 in Canada, it was decided to shoot a sequel. It came out under the name "Cube 2: Hypercube". This time the director was Andrzej Sekula. By the way, for him, this also became a debut in the genre of full meter.
This time, eight unfamiliar people wake up in cube-shaped rooms. Soon they find out that the rooms are inside the four-dimensional hypercube, as well as the rooms are regularly moving due to the so-called quantum teleportation. There are parallel worlds here, and in some rooms time flows in a completely different way, in others deadly traps fall.
In its plot, the film largely repeats the first part, which is reflected in the characters and images of the characters. But the ending of the film is fundamentally different, which distinguishes it. In this picture in the finale, viewers finally learn in detail about the secret organization that organized this deadly design for original experiments.
In the reviews of the movie "Cube 2: Hypercube", many viewers regretted that this part had a different director. It was associated with his weakness and lack of popularity. In addition, the theme developed in the first part turned out to be almost exhausted, in the second the creators could not tell the audience almost nothing new.
The completion of the trilogy
Despite the fact that the second part was not so successful, in 2004 Canadian producers decided to release another sequel. This time the film Ernie Barbarash received the original name "Cube Zero".
It finally tells the essence and mechanism of the cube itself. An unnamed organization puts people there, studying their behavior and reactions.
This time, the main character becomes cameraman Eric Wynn, who is just watching the work of the whole system and the behavior of the new captives. One day, a woman named Cassandra attracts his attention. Having studied her personal file, he does not find in him the voluntary consent to be detained in Cuba. Therefore, she decides that she was there by someone else's malicious intent or mistake. He goes for Cassandra inside the cube, which is a violation of the rules of the organization. The security service opens a hunt for him.
Reviews for the movie "Cube 3" were extremely restrained. Most noted that the main merit of the tape is in the ending, which was directly related to the first part. In revenge, Eric was erased from memory and had a brain operation. Turning into a mentally ill, he finds himself in the middle of a cube as part of another group of prisoners who are looking for a way out.
The picture was nominated for the American Saturn Award for the best DVD release, but failed to win the award.
