What unites the films “Alien”, “Predator”, “Something”, “Flight of the Navigator”? All of them were created in the 70-80s of the last century and talked about the introduction of an alien mind into the peaceful life of earthlings. And if the first three blockbusters were notorious horror films, then “Flight of the Navigator” was intended for viewing, first of all, by a children's audience. And the main character David Freeman, performed by thirteen-year-old Joey Kraimer, won the hearts of young fans for a long time.
Joey's childhood
Deliris August Fisher Joy Cramer was born on August 23, 1973 in the Canadian city of Vancouver. The wonderful nature of the area fascinated the boy who grew up inquisitive and ready for adventure. Maybe this contributed to the fact that once the restless guy noticed the producers of the fantastic thriller "Flight". The first role of the young actor was the ten-year-old son of police officer Jack Ramsey Bobby, abducted by intruders. And, although Joy brilliantly coped with the task of the director, real glory came to him only two years later. In the meantime, Joey was destined to play episodic roles in the films “She wrote the murder”, “Stone Fox”, “Clan of the Cave Bear”.
Films with Joey Kraimer are known to this day, but hardly anyone will remember in them a little big-eyed hero.
The main role and the first glory
The biography of Joey Kraimer is very interesting. In 1986, the first ever film using computer technology was launched - Flight of the Navigator. After the release of the picture on the screens of the United States of America on July 30, 1986, the young actor woke up truly famous. He began to be recognized on the street, and fans literally fought for the right to receive an autograph of Joey Kraimer. In the same 1986, young talent was nominated for the Saturn Award as a brilliant young actor.

A few years later, the product of the US-Norwegian film industry scattered around the world. In January 1990, he was seen by young spectators of the Soviet Union. David Freeman became the protagonist of many courtyard games of companies of Soviet teenagers, and the army of fans of actor Joey Kraimer replenished at times. The film itself, kind and preaching universal friendship, could be reviewed several times. Today, Disney Company is planning a remake of Navigator Flight using more advanced computer effects than in the original. But will the success of the novel overshadow the popularity of the script, who knows?
Further film career
After Navigator’s Flight, Joy Cramer seemed to be waiting for a stunning movie star future. Indeed, he began to be invited to act in films. And again, as before Flight, these were almost episodic roles. Especially liked the open look of the boy directors of the Disney company. They now and then involved the young actor in their television projects. However, there was no such popularity as it was after Navigator’s Flight.
The last film in which Joy Cramer was not even mentioned in the credits was "This is My Party", released in 1996. After the project, the actor disappeared.
Convicted Cramer
In 2013, a photo of Joey Cramer was again placed on the main pages of the Canadian press, but for a different, not a stellar occasion. The fact is that the former young film idol was accused of robbing the Skotibank Bank in British Columbia Canada. Despite a thorough disguise - a bandana, dark glasses and a wig, the police quickly caught the attacker and was very surprised to recognize him as a former Disney hero. They helped to delay Deliris August Fisher Joy Kraimer his ultra-fast driving. Fleeing from the chase, the offender violated the rules and was stopped by the traffic police in Gibson. After checking the identity of the offender with the robber sent out the identikit, the guards handed him over to colleagues from the Mount Sashine Coast Mounted Police.
On May 10, 2013, Joy Cramer appeared before a provincial court in North Vancouver. It is noteworthy that this is not the first crime committed by a former stellar child. Two years earlier, he was accused of falsifying bank checks. A little later, the guy was convicted of using a fake passport and was imprisoned for 6 months. After his release, Joy did community service for a year and a half.
Currently, Joy Cramer has returned to his hometown, where he works as an employee of a sports goods store.
