From January 1, 2012, monetary allowance was increased in the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. Accordingly, retirement pensions also increased. But the calculation of pensions for military personnel has changed significantly. Keeping the previous accrual order, a reduction coefficient of 54% was introduced.
In addition, now the calculation of pensions for servicemen does not include the full amount of the money content, but only 50% of it with a length of service of 20 years.
Now the calculation formula is as follows:
(Ovd + Ovz + Nvl) x (50% + 3% for each year served after 20 years of service, but in total no more than 85%) \ x 54% + (2% additionally in the year when the monetary allowance will be indexed )
- Ovd - official salary;
- Ovz - salary by rank;
- Nvl - allowance for seniority.
From January 1, pensions will be indexed annually by increasing the coefficient of 54% by an additional 2%. According to preliminary calculations, this measure is expected to lead to an annual increase in military pensions by 3.7%.
In those years when indexation of military salaries of official and military ranks will be carried out, retirement pensions will be indexed twice.
New calculation of pension for military personnel allowed to increase them from the beginning of 2012 to an average of 16.953 rubles. Moreover, the average military pension exceeds the civilian one by 40%.
Many of the military during their service are on business trips in hot spots, perform other duties related to health and even life risks. The law provides for an increase in their pensions if, as a result of the performance of their official duties, they become disabled. The amount of the increase is calculated based on the current size of the social pension, by multiplying it by an appropriate coefficient. All of them are given in the table:
- the first group - 300% -250%;
- the second group - 250% -200%;
- the third group - 175% -150%.
Since July 2008, pension for the military can be increased if the retirement has 5 years of insurance experience and at the same time the man has reached the age of 60 years, and the woman is 55. To assign this part of the payments, you must contact the Pension Fund department. Let us briefly consider another type of military pension - the loss of a breadwinner. It is appointed if the employee died in the performance of duties, as well as in the event of the death of a military pensioner. In the first case, it makes up 40% of the monetary content for each of the disabled family members. And in the second - in the amount of thirty percent of the same amount.
A military pension may be granted to a conscript officer in the following cases:

A pension is awarded to military personnel by the military commissariat at the place of residence of the pensioner. Its employees can also give detailed advice on all issues related to pension provision and suggest which documents must be submitted in order to make appropriate payments.
