Bimbolat Vataev is a famous Soviet and Russian film and theater actor. He began acting in films since 1962. His first successful role is Private Mamakayev in the film “On the Seven Winds” (1962). In 1990, the actor was recognized as People's Artist of the RSFSR.
Biography
Bimbolat Vataev was born on March 15 in 1939 in the village of Novy Batakyurt of the North Ossetian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic. He studied at the Shchukin Theater School, which he graduated with honors in 1964. Since 1959 he played in the North Ossetian theater of music and drama, and then in the Tajikfilm film studio. Moreover, Bimbolat Vataev himself was the director of some films. From 1994 to 1998, he was the Minister of Culture of North Ossetia.
The actor left this world on May 9, 2000. He is buried in the Walk of Fame in Vladikavkaz. Even after his death, the people wished to preserve the memory of such a talented, bright man, so some streets were named after him, in particular the one on which Bimbolat Vataev himself lived until the last.
