Despite the difficult schedule and work almost 24 hours in a row, she was glad to be able to show her strength in her favorite business and help others. Varvara Zhuravleva becomes a victim of a crime that once and for all changes her usual ideas about the world. And now she is determined to embark on the fight against crime. To do this, she enters the service of the police. Due to his incredibly persistent character, diligent work, as well as medical skills, Varvara almost immediately makes an indelible impression on all employees. In a matter of years, she manages to advance in the service and gain the coveted seat of a police captain.
That's only in the personal life of the main character and to this day everything is far from as smooth as we would like. She is forced to take care of her old parents. She still does not have her own family. And in a relationship she does at all with a married man and part-time her work colleague Ilyin.
But soon a new criminal case fell into her hands, in which the murder of a young pregnant girl appears. After some investigation and comparison of evidence, the main character comes to the conclusion that all this is somehow inextricably linked with the crime that affected her several years ago. Moreover, it seems to Barbara, behind all that is happening, there are quite high services, which have the proper influence and the ability to hide from all those terrifying atrocities. Varvara Zhuravleva takes up this matter and intends to bring it to the very end, whatever it might cost her.
But during the investigation of the case, Barbara will have to face the fact that all the witnesses she found will begin to die before her eyes. The number of killings is becoming more impressive. However, all this does not stop the captain of the police. And then the attackers decide to take up her personally, threatening all those people who are somehow connected with the main character. Will Varvara be able to find the bandits before any of those close to her suffer? The tension will increase every day.

In the series "Pursuit of the Past," the director was Alan Dzociev. This person is far from being widely known to a mass audience. However, he still has some experience in this genre. In particular, you could see his next series: "Cop Wars 5", "State Defense" and "Professional".
