One of the most famous paintings of the Soviet period is “Height”. The actors and roles of this film were known to everyone in the sixties. Unfortunately, today the names of many talented Soviet actors are forgotten, which cannot be said about Nikolai Rybnikov. The artist, on whose account more than fifty roles, forever remained in the memory of fans of domestic cinema. It Rybnikov played the main role in the film "Height". Actors and roles are described in more detail in the article.
Plot
The film was shot based on the eponymous work of Yevgeny Vorobyov. Script writer - Michael Papava. The picture tells about the work of installers in the construction of a blast furnace. A team of workers arrives from another city. The foreman - Konstantin Tokmakov - is a responsible, conscientious person. The foreman is Nikolai Pasechnik.
Nikolai meets the welder Katya. This girl is masterful, self-confident. And when she rejects the courtship of the Pasechnik, he is much surprised, because Nikolay is used to easy victories.
There is another storyline in the film. Tokmakova’s boss, Deryabin, is a careerist, a sly, cowardly man. There is no consent in the construction manager’s family. Masha’s wife doesn’t work anywhere, she does not love her husband. And perhaps that is why, once she came to the construction site, she met Tokmakov and fell in love with him.
Once, during construction work, the Pasechnik falls from a great height. But, of course, does not die, but, on the contrary, becomes a hero. Nikolai is in the hospital, where Katya is caring for him. As in other Soviet films, in "Altitude" good conquers evil. Deryabin leaves. Nikolai will marry Katerina. The last episode shows the grand opening of the blast furnace.
Star cast
The actors took the roles in "Altitude" with all seriousness, despite the fact that they were already quite successful artists. Rybnikov was already a real star by the beginning of the filming of this picture. Inna Makarova, who played Katya Petrashen in the film, had the Stalin Prize behind her. Thus, in the film about the installers played all-Union actors. Roles in "Height", however, was not easy to fulfill even for such experienced artists. After all, I had to work in harsh conditions.
Shooting at a height
Actors and roles are fully presented below. But first, you should name the main characters - Nikolai Pasechnik and Katya Petrashen. The shooting took place at high altitude. On the set there were stuntmen. But both Rybnikov and Makarova refused the doubles. The height was rather big - 60 meters. But the performer of the leading role behaved at ease. Makarova even managed to dance, being at a height, which surprised the director and partners on the set. As for Rybnikov, he performed a trick that was really life-threatening.
Actors and roles ("Height"): the main characters
In addition to Rybnikov and Makarova, the film played:
- Gennady Karnovich-Valois (foreman Tokmakov).
- Marina Strizhenova (Maria).
- Vasily Makarov (Deryabin, installation manager).
- Boris Sitko (construction manager Dymov).
What is the success of the film "Height" (1957)? Actors and roles were chosen successfully, and it is precisely because of this that simple, seemingly insignificant people, who are the heroes of this picture, were loved by the audience. Inna Makarova until 1957 played a Komsomol activist. Her heroine in "Altitude" is a bright, outstanding, but vulgar, overly broken personality. But later critics called this role Makarov’s best work. Rybnikov in the film created the image of a fearless, hardworking installer, but not without romance.
"Height" (1957): actors and roles (other characters)
Such heroes as Tokmakov, Deryabin also have considerable significance in the plot. The first is a talented, determined person, striving to introduce new ideas into the workflow. The second is a negative hero. Deryabin (installation manager) is not ready to take risks, while giving instructions to carry out dangerous work during a strong wind, as a result of which Rybnikov's hero almost dies.
Life behind the scenes
“Height” is a film about honest, hardworking people. In addition, the plot is not without romance. Perhaps that is why "Height" has become an all-union favorite. But for many years Rybnikov and Makarova were credited with the novel. But they were just friends. For many years Rybnikov sought his beloved woman - Alla Larionova. The actor made an offer to her in the winter of 1957, before the premiere of the film "Height". This rumor spread quickly. And therefore, after the hero of Rybnikov uttered the phrase that he was finally breaking up with his bachelor life, the audience stood up and exploded in applause. So the actor and his future wife were congratulated by fans.
Personal life of Inna Makarova was not so successful. Two years after the release of the picture "Height", she divorced her first husband - Sergei Bondarchuk.
The plot of the film "Height" is quite simple. But even today, when socialist realism has long lost its popularity, many people love the picture of the life of installers in our country. It's all about the brilliant tandem of Rybnikov - Makarov.
