How to title the text? This question divides people into two groups: some believe that it is very simple, and others that it is very difficult. It all depends on the complexity of the text, genre and time. Consider the question in detail. And do not worry: all the compositions will find their names in the end.

Genres

First of all, you need to build on the genre. For example, a scientific article is easier to title than a work of art. We will not plunge into the wilds, consider the main genres that are found quite often now:

• journalistic article;
• Research Article;
• fiction novel;
• essay.

The main thing is to decide in which genre the composition is to be born. Because the accuracy or vagueness of the name depends on it. First, we briefly define each genre in order to understand how to title the text.

Principles

If the article is journalistic, then there is no need to philosophize and invent a vivid metaphor. It is necessary to write strictly and on business. If, for example, the author wanted to analyze Zyuganov’s chances for a future presidency, then he should have titled his essay “Chances of the Communist Party Leader for the Presidency”. You can still come up with a second name, but in general this is superfluous.

If a scientific article, then everything should also be strictly in the case. The author explores the intersection of Dostoevsky and Pelevin. Accordingly, the article is entitled "The Inner World of a Little Man in the Works of Dostoevsky and Pelevin."

Another thing is an artistic novel or a story. They can be called whatever. Consider the possibilities:

1. By the name of the main character or its essence. For example: “Martin Eden”, “Idiot”, “Demons”, “Brothers Karamazov”, “Peter Kamenzind”.
2. For a key phrase, for example, “The Postman Always Calls Twice,” to understand why it is key, you need to read the entire novel.
3. On the main topic. For example: War and Peace, Rita Hayworth, or the Shawshank Redemption, War of the Worlds.
4. Sometimes the scene gives the name - "The Chronicles of Narnia."

You can still come up with something, but these are enough to illustrate the example.

The authors of philosophical essays also do not invent. One of the most famous works in this genre is simply called Experiments. Michel Montaigne has always been original. It is even original in simplicity. There is also a wonderful book by Stefan Zweig, “Fighting the Demon,” which combines under one cover the novelized biographies of Hölderlin, Heinrich von Kleist, and Nietzsche. The works actually constitute an essay on the fate of the great masters, written in brilliant literary language (special thanks to the translator).

The main idea in the school essay

The question of how to head the text cannot be imagined without considering complex matters. But they are not in the school essay. At school, a person is required to isolate the main idea from what is written and display it in the headline. For example, a teacher says that the theme is Autumn. And each student can choose the symbol of the withering nature that he likes the most. Someone writes about trees, someone about bad weather, and someone about the wonderful autumn foliage. So the names can be like this:

• "Trees in the fall."
• "Rains and bad weather in the fall."
• "Yellow and red leaves" (I do not want to add again in the "autumn").

That is, as you see, we used the same trick as in the title of works of art or an essay - we focused on the main topic of the story. If it is necessary to title each part of the text, then the principles are the same. We must first write, then think about what the “thing” turned out to be, and name it. When it comes to school pen samples, it is always easier, because the teacher sets the topic, as a rule, and in its space you can easily solve the problem of how to precisely title the text.

Junior classes

We go down another level below. In elementary grades, teachers do not require anything supernatural from children. They just want the child to learn how to draw the simplest logical parallels. Suppose, in a small piece of text, we are talking about how the snow melts, the flowers bloom, the animals molt, changing the “fur coat”. What season are we talking about? And options:

• summer;
• Spring;
• fall;
• winter.

Yes, there may still be a question, what is the title. And here, too, one should not be wiser, but say so: "This is the name for the text, which reflects its main idea." Most often it happens.
