Almost any sport involves injuries. The most common of them are banal bruises, sprains and dislocations, including the knee and shoulder joints. These are common injuries that are inevitable during training and competition. But nevertheless, it is precisely dislocations that can entail serious complications. Therefore, their injuries must be treated immediately. But if everything is quite simple with the knee joint , then the restoration of the shoulder joint requires more time and effort.
The most traumatic for the shoulder girdle are cycling, martial arts, handball, skiing, snowboarding. These sports are associated with constant falls, which can lead to
dislocation of the shoulder joint. The degree of injury may vary. This is a slight sprain, and a complete
rupture of ligaments. In the worst case, a bulging collarbone becomes visually visible - in medicine, this trauma is called the symptom of โpiano keysโ.
If we consider the main symptoms of dislocation of the shoulder joint, then there are not many of them. But they make clear about the nature of the damage. So, severe pain and swelling indicate a joint injury. First aid for dislocation is the reliable fixation of the limb in the most convenient and painless position. This can be done with a scarf or any other wide fabric. To reduce puffiness, it is necessary to apply an ice compress to the damaged area.

If the injury is not severe, and the ligaments are only slightly torn, then after a while it will heal itself. But it will not be superfluous to do daily special exercises for the shoulder joint in order to quickly restore full mobility to it. Physiotherapy procedures also help. If the injury is more complicated, the ligaments are torn, but the damage did not affect the coraco-humeral and clavicular region, then arthroscopy is the best treatment. The consequences of such an injury can be quite serious, in some cases, arthrosis of the shoulder develops.

Sometimes with dislocations of the shoulder joint, surgical intervention cannot be avoided. It is necessary if the damage affects the ligaments between the clavicle and scapula. This, of course, is a simple operation, but its risk is largely due to the fact that under the collarbone there are not only nerves, but also large blood vessels. Therefore, there is always a danger of damage to them. The operation itself is carried out in order to sew torn fibers and stabilize the joint with the help of special screws (wire).
The postoperative period is quite complicated. Due to metal mounts, limb mobility is limited. When you try to raise your hand in the shoulder girdle, tension arises, causing severe discomfort. Since metal screws can break, they tend to be removed faster. Implants are removed only in the event of an inflammatory process. Physiotherapy and massage of the shoulder joint help strengthen muscles and increase its endurance. You can return to sport and start training again no earlier than three months later.
