It seemed that such a young director would not be able to make a worthy film, but the project, which cost about $ 75 million, was performed quite well.
In the movie "X-Men" (2000), two clans of mutants are at enmity - representatives of a terrorist organization whose plans include sowing trouble in the world, and then subjugating it. And the warriors of goodness that impede the implementation of the plan are superheroes, natives of a private mutant academy. As practice has shown, the X-Men turned out to be a fantastic action movie with the use of sophisticated makeup and a lot of special effects. The friendly reception of the film by professionals and noisy success is difficult to explain. For example, “Battleground - Earth” is no worse than “X-Men,” however, it suffered a commercial failure and was not rated very well by critics.
The long-awaited sequel
In the movie "X-Men 2" (2003), the beloved characters are threatened by a new opponent - Colonel Stryker. He wants to capture the Cerebro, the car of Professor Xavier. To defeat the Stryker, the X-Men decide to unite with the brotherhood of mutants led by Magneto. The desire of Brian Singer, the director who brought the picture to the big cinema, to make the second “X-Men” even more exciting fulfilled to some extent. The film really turned out to be more entertaining than the first: it is full of scenes of fights, which were performed in the style of martial arts, and various tricks.
“X-Men 2” turned out to be clearer, the plot design - more distinct, and most importantly, much more witty. The beginning of the film may seem like an ernic commentary on suspicious Americans who do not trust superheroes, but consider all of them mutant terrorists who encroach on American statehood. The pathos with which the mutants prove to the population that they are no worse than everyone else, that everyone should live in harmony and friendship, regardless of the presence of superpowers, repels a little. Plus, superheroes will confront everyone who is going to disrupt order in the world.
Neither love nor longing nor pity
The timeline of the X-Men films also includes the controversial film - X-Men: The Last Battle, which was released in 2006. She is very different from previous films by her cruelty. Ratner unleashed unbridled imagination, sparing neither the lives of the heroes, nor the nerves of the audience. The picture is quite dramatic, a kind of tough emotional and psychological shake. Moreover, the whole story is built in a bright spectacular manner, and the finale is really enchanting. The scale of destruction surpasses, but the final shots are more calm and peaceful. The first spin-off “X-Men: The Beginning. Wolverine, released in 2009, is considered the prequel to the original trilogy. This is a long-awaited story about how the whole story of the X-Men began. Having matured, brothers shoulder to shoulder rage during various wars, until they meet a person who consciously recruits a team of the same mutants.
This film can boast of a very accurate name, since practically all the heroes of subsequent films appear here. But still, this is the story of Logan’s life, growing up, and love. The plot is not built solely on the explanation of where the main character got the adamantium claws and invulnerability, the ability to quickly regenerate. This is a story that sheds light on how Logan became a gloomy and lonely Wolverine, what his past was and why he forgot it.
Fifth franchise movie
The chronology of the films “People X” continues with the next prequel to the original trilogy - “X-Men: First Class,” which the audience was able to appreciate in 2011. The fifth film of the famous franchise was shot by Matthew Vaughn, it was he who was entrusted with the right to tell the audience about how and why the inseparable Magneto and Professor X had quarreled, how the well-known helmet appeared that was able to protect against telepathic invasion and who managed to prevent an inevitable beginning Third World War. The story begins with a demonstration of a rather unsightly picture of the future, in which the inhabitants of the planet have a lot of problems after the apocalypse. However, the creators intentionally focus the attention of the viewer on the mutants exterminated by specially created robots that capture the ability of the pursued mutant and turn them against them. Mutants die like flies, and the main characters decide to cut the problem down, that is, send Wolverine straight to the past. There, the hero will have to prevent the very idea of a threat.
The story is replete with new-fangled special effects, it is very dynamic. This piece is considered one of the best of the X-Men. The chronology of events does not suffer. The whole story seems concise and complete.
Very soon
The continuation of the painting "X-Men: Days of Future Past" will not be long in coming.
