Player career

The athlete made his first performances for a sports school in Minsk (1995-1997). Then the player received an offer from BATE, in which he played until 2002. During the period spent in the Belarusian club, Goncharenko was able to collect an impressive collection of trophies. On the account of Victor five medals of the championship of different denominations - one bronze, two silver and two gold. The football player had to end his career at twenty-five due to a serious injury - a rupture of the cruciate ligament.

Having finished his football career, Victor Goncharenko began his studies at BSUFK. At the end of his studies, he acquired a diploma in "Football Coach". In 2004, the player began training the BATE backup team. In 2007, Goncharenko earned the position of senior mentor, and soon became the club ’s main coach. It has three UEFA rights: A, B and PRO.

In 2008, BATE managed to break into the group stage of the Champions League. Goncharenko was considered the youngest in this competition. He and his team demonstrated an excellent game and held draws with the Italian Juventus and St. Petersburg Zenit, and also won the national championship. According to the results of the season, he was the one who managed to win the national title “Coach of the Year”. To all this, he took the seventeenth position in the evaluation of club mentors.

The following year, BATE did not manage to enter the Champions League, having suffered defeats in the qualifying match. In the playoffs, LE BATE was also unable to overpower the opponent and flew out.

In December 2009, there was evidence that Viktor Goncharenko could become the new coach of Kuban. Photos and other evidence were soon refuted by the BATE leadership.

In 2010, Viktor Mikhailovich was also unable to withdraw the team in the Champions League. BATE played in the Europa League that season. In the same year, information came that the Moscow “Lokomotiv” considers Goncharenko to be the head coach.

There was no transfer to another club, and the next season Viktor Goncharenko was able to withdraw BATE for the first time in club history in the 1/16 Europa League, where he was defeated by PSG.

In 2011, Goncharenko for the second time left with the team in the group stage of the Champions League, where he did not achieve significant results. In the following years, rumors constantly appeared about the coach’s transfer to another club, but they remained rumors.

In 2012, the BATE, which entered the group stage of the Champions League, was the first to be able to beat the French “Lille”, and then sensationally defeated the Munich “Bavaria”. Taking third place in the group, the team went to the playoffs of LE.

Kuban

In autumn 2013, Goncharenko left the post of BATE coach and headed the club from Krasnodar. The start in the new team turned out to be very successful. The Belarusian specialist was dismissed in the fall of 2014, when the team was in fifth place, and the gap from the second was one point. The reason for the dismissal was the lack of rudeness in communicating with the players.

Ural

In the summer of 2015, Goncharenko signed a contract with Ural from Yekaterinburg. Soon there was information that the coach left his post, but it was quickly refuted. The club decided to stop cooperation with Goncharenko in early September of the same year. The resignation happened by a mutual decision, the reason was the divergence of views with the leadership.

CSKA

Soon after his dismissal from Ural, Viktor Goncharenko received an offer from the capital's club, where he assumed the post of senior mentor. In addition, the specialist received proposals for the position of vice director at BATE.
