Dimensions and Scales

Just imagine - Western Siberia occupies about 2.6 million square kilometers! This is just an incredible scale. It stretches for 2500 kilometers from the Kara Sea to the semi-deserts of Kazakhstan (from north to south) and from the Yenisei to the Urals (from east to west) for 1900 km. The vast expanses of Siberia are simply mesmerizing.

It is interesting that the lowland surface is mostly flat, and if there are differences, they are insignificant. Hills are a characteristic feature for all suburbs except the northern one. In the southern, western and eastern, they are quite common. But they are not high - a maximum of 300 meters. In the central regions, the lowlands are at most 150 meters above sea level. In general, it should be noted that nature is amazing, and this is one of the features that distinguish Western Siberia.

Resources and environmental conditions

The lowland territory is represented by the whole gamut of soils - here you can meet both chernozems and tundra rocks. Special attention should be paid to the climate of Western Siberia. It is sharply continental.

In the winter season, it is very cold in these places, and besides, pressure drops here - slowly but surely, and it has been kept at a low level for quite some time. There are also winds of the southern rhubas. Far from every person is able to endure the climate of Siberia - there is no place for the seasoned because the absolute temperature minimum in the south is -50 degrees. In the center and in the northern part, this indicator is -55`C. The β€œwarmest” (if you can call it that) region is the southwest. There, the temperature in winter is relatively low - to a maximum of minus 28. Indeed, for Siberians this is an absolutely normal indicator, but the southerners instantly shudder when they hear -10. Needless to say about such temperatures as, for example, -60, and this is not uncommon here.

No wonder snow here is a common occurrence. Western Siberia is covered with white fluffy cover about 270 days a year. But it is in the north, in the southern part this figure is 160 days. The thickness of the snow cover is rather big - more than half a meter. Really impressive.

Summer in Siberia, as you could already understand, no. However, warming is observed. Closer to summer, the pressure begins to normalize, and the temperature rises. The air, by the way, warms up pretty quickly. The hottest weather in these places is different - it depends on the area. In the north, off the coast of Yamal, the average summer temperature is four degrees Celsius. If you take into account the Arctic Circle, then the figure is higher - as much as 14 `C. In the extreme south, July is already more like summer - it is warm enough there, thermometers show +22. The north has a pleasant climate, and the temperature in July is 28 degrees. And finally, south - it's even too hot there, since thermometers often show +45 `C.

In Siberia, it rains quite often. From April to October, there is a "rainstorm" season. About 80% of precipitation falls precisely during this period. This happens in all places except the southern regions - sometimes it sometimes does without rain.
