Very often, many fans of spinning fishing, especially for beginners, have an incorrect opinion about such a bait as “edible” rubber. Many people seriously believe that the most important determinant of their catch is aromatic attractants. Of course, it cannot be argued that this is fundamentally wrong. Attractants really work, but only in warm water. But in the spring or autumn from these substances that impregnate the bait, there is no sense. But while she was catchy, she remains. So what is the real secret of "edible" silicone?
"Edible" rubber for fishing

This type of bait differs little in appearance from silicone twisters and vibration tails. In fact, this is what they are, but with only one difference: they are well flavored with an aromatic attractant. That is, the "edible" rubber will emit a smell. The aroma may be different. Some baits come with the natural smell of animal bait, that is, fish or worms. Others may have a very specific, even piquant aroma of anise or chocolate. But this is about their positive aspects. And if we talk about the shortcomings of such a bait, then there are very few of them. Firstly, they are too tender. In the process of fishing, for one reason or another, either the paws or the tails break off. Although, in fairness, it should be noted that this has little effect on the catchability of the bait. In addition, the "edible" rubber very quickly ceases to exude its aroma. For this unpleasant reason, you have to buy it in whole packages, which can be very costly. But, as a rule, everything is more than paid off by frequent bites of pike, zander and perch. As for the models, there is no fundamental difference. Both twisters and vibro-tails work well.
Equipment for "edible" rubber
Of course, in order to provoke a predator to bite, it is not enough to fasten this bait. To "edible" rubber began to work, you need at least the right equipment. There are many options. But there are only three main ones:
1. "Drop-shot." The bait with the hook threaded into it is on a separate leash. A sinker is placed on the main fishing line.
2. Texas. The bait is attached to the end of the main fishing line. In front of it is a sliding sinker, usually a bullet-shaped one. The offset hook fits into the body of the silicone bait.
3. "Veki." This snap applies exclusively to “edible” silicone. The bait is pierced by a hook in the center, the sting is carefully brought out. Sinker is used extremely rarely. The jig head is more often taken.
The purpose of the "edible" bait
The main purpose of this original silicone bait is its maximum imitation of a living creature, which has its own taste. Since the “edible” rubber receives extremely positive feedback from fishermen, it is worth assuming that it copes with its task very successfully. And what does it give? Of course, the fish, without feeling a dirty trick, will not want to immediately part with their alleged "lunch". This means that the fisherman will at least have more time to make a good cut.
