Ventilation systems are present in almost every room, as they are needed to maintain an optimal atmosphere inside. They are also necessary in ensuring the comfort and well-being of people. Structures should be checked regularly, after which a document is presented attesting to serviceability and readiness for operation. Therefore, certification of ventilation systems is carried out. Read more about this procedure in the article.
Why is a document required?
The passport of the ventilation unit is considered confirmation of the readiness of the system for use and compliance with all requirements. The document indicates a cycle of work based on modern standards. Why do I need a passport? This is required for:
- Formal registration of equipment to be operated. Even if it is a foreign system that does not have Russian certificates, the existing passport serves as a confirmation that the devices work properly and can be used in the system.
- Settlement of various disputes. If an emergency occurred in a room, for example, smoke, it will prove that this is not due to ventilation, but to something else, since the passport indicates that the system is working.
In order for the passport to be issued, it is necessary to test the ventilation system. Without this event, the document will not be provided, even if there are other references and extracts.
Norms
What is required to obtain a passport? The SNiP contains standards that establish when checking the design and issuing documentation:
- Installation of structures should be carried out on the basis of project requirements, while no one is concerned about the lack of the necessary equipment for the contractor, for example, to perform high-altitude work, therefore this reason is not recognized as valid when finding defects.
- If the pipes are designed to transport air with high humidity, then in their lower part there should be no longitudinal joints. Places where water can accumulate are laid in a special way during the arrangement.
- If there are aggressive acids or compounds in the air, then the material for the gaskets must be selected appropriate, that is, resistant to this effect.
- If flangeless connections are used, the materials used must be selected special, it all depends on the temperature.
- The bolts on the flanges are tightened tightly, the parts should not be loose. The nuts located in the structure are located on only 1 side. Depending on the design, you need to determine the location of the points necessary for installing the duct.
- Ducts are mounted with fans thanks to special inserts that exclude the transmission of vibration. These parts are made of fiberglass. The inserts are placed almost the last, before performing a ventilation survey.
- If a bell-shaped channel with a vertical direction is required, then the bell-holes must be directed upwards. They are additionally fixed with hemp tows impregnated with a solution, and the remaining cavities need to be coated with a special mastic.
- After hardening the mastic, the place is pasted over with a special material and stained with oil paint. Fans during installation are mounted with anchor elements that provide vibration isolation.
- Industrial devices are installed and mounted using rubber gaskets. This protects the walls and the entire building from vibration.
- Valves should simply open and close so that, if possible, this could be done manually, without the use of special levers.

According to these rules, certification of ventilation systems is carried out. After such an event, the equipment will work safely. At the same time, the institution that conducted the procedure must have a license to certify ventilation systems. Then the check will be framed in a legal way.
Passport Features
What should be in the passport of the ventilation system? A document is compiled according to the norms of SNiP. Must be the name of the object, its location, the purpose of the system and information about the location. You also need to specify a list of characteristics for fans, electric motors, heaters and air conditioners, filters, humidifiers.
The passport indicates the dimensions of the sections, the flow rate, so that during the checks to establish whether the information meets the requirements of the project. Indication of the ventilation duct test. A sample of filling out the document can be taken from the commission that carries out the verification. The passport is filled in when the object is handed over, and when used, timely certification is carried out, so it has several tables for each event.
Document Composition
The document is multi-page; information is entered into it during inspections, repair and modernization. There are 8 pages in total, but there are sheets where there is data on repairs and upgraded elements that are not the main ones. Additional documents are often attached to the passport, where the following information is present:
- Information about the performed tests, drawn up in the form of protocols.
- The tightness of the system.
- Noise and vibration level.
- Pressure and other data.
It indicates the inspection of ventilation ducts that are important in the system. Control of all equipment elements will prevent many unpleasant phenomena. If the certification of ventilation systems has been carried out , it is preferable to store the results of the event in electronic form, so many institutions do just that. This is necessary for quick amendments and additions, as well as for the quick issuance of statements.
Certification of ventilation systems of industrial premises is carried out every 5 years. This period is valid if no changes have occurred. Events should be carried out in case of loss of a passport or change of ownership of the enterprise.
Cost
Certification of ventilation systems on average costs 3-5 thousand rubles. But the price may be higher, it all depends on the complexity of the equipment. Some companies charge a fee for each square meter, usually the rates are 60-150 rubles per 1 square.
To carry out the event, an estimate is prepared in advance, which must be agreed with the customer. It should be borne in mind that the sample passport and the price of the procedure varies, it all depends on the organization. The inspection company must have a license. Certification of ventilation systems will then be an official procedure.
Responsibility
Documentation is the responsibility of a person who is considered responsible for the use of equipment. In enterprises, these are mechanics. These functions may be performed by the contractor. The document should be noted about system changes, repairs and upgrades.
Protocols are attached to the passport, indicating the performance of operations, they must be stored with the document. To extend the service life, timely repair and installation of modern equipment is required. These works should be carried out by professionals who do this according to modern standards.
Information on the measures taken is entered in the passport. Supervisory authorities organize an audit in which the correctness of filling out the documentation, the presence of protocols, and the conformity of technical information are checked. An enterprise may have several systems. But if they are combined, then 1 document is required, and in other cases, paperwork is required.
Why is ignoring a passport dangerous?
Inadequate or untimely completed procedure leads to difficulties in operation and during further checks. Any flaw will bring problems to the owner of the institution and visitors when there are unpleasant odors from the kitchen. The passport of the ventilation system allows you to obtain permission for commissioning. This is a mandatory requirement, and for non-compliance it is assumed administrative responsibility and fines.
For secondary installation, a passport is required. If it is absent, the law requires you to reinstall the ventilation, and yet a fee is charged for this. The responsible owner of the enterprise will definitely install the system and draw up documents for it.
Where to go?
The event is carried out in the following organizations:
- Private organization . It is considered the most affordable way. But there is a risk of interaction with non-professionals, so the quality of work will be low. Often passports are filled out with errors, with insufficient data.
- Installation Institution . Wizards who install systems usually provide passports for them. But it should be remembered that only the chief engineer can guarantee qualified execution.
- Laboratory This is a test center where everything you need to complete the procedure. But not always there are professional engineers in the staff, so there is a risk of incorrect interpretation of the indicators.
- Institution for certification and diagnostics . Professionals work there, as the enterprise is considered highly specialized. If you need high quality work, then you should contact such an institution.
Danger of a malfunctioning system
Many entrepreneurs save on ventilation installations, referring to artists with insufficient qualifications. As a result, serious problems arise with the operation of the system. After that, there will be even more troubleshooting costs. In addition, regulatory authorities may issue fines. For example, if the equipment is faulty, then in the catering establishment there will be smells of the kitchen.
Without a passport, you cannot open a restaurant, cafe, medical, children's institution. With poor ventilation, you still have to install a new system or reconstruct the old one, and this is an additional cost. A timely and high-quality procedure will prevent many difficulties.
