All things, even the highest quality and most reliable, will become obsolete sooner or later. So the famous Makarov pistol (PM) once ceased to satisfy the needs of the army. As a result of this, the development of new weapons began, which could replace the legendary PM. In 1995, at the Izhevsk Mechanical Plant under the leadership of designer Vladimir Yarygin, the 6P35 model was created. All the necessary parameters were successfully embodied in it: an enlarged magazine, increased breakdown action of a bullet, the possibility of using several types of cartridges. In 2000, at the field tests, the Yarygin pistol (aka βRookβ) won a landslide victory. As a result, in 2003, he began to be supplied to the army. Gradually, the Rook replaces PM from the army arsenal. Like other popular models, the Yarygin pistol received pneumatic copies. The most famous of them is MP-655K. Today we will get to know her better.
Design
A pneumatic pistol is assembled at the same factory as its combat relative. Externally, the MP-655K is practically no different from the original. However, the technical characteristics of him, of course, are completely different. The gun has the most practical caliber for pneumatics - 4.5 mm. Its length is 20 cm and its weight is 700 g. The product is made of plastic and metal. The shutter frame, fuse and all internal parts are made of metal. In terms of reliability, the product is practically not inferior to a firearm prototype.
Under the false barrel there is a rifled combat barrel, the length of which is 11 cm. Outwardly, it looks like a shutter guide. The MP-655K pistol has a double-sided safety fuse. However, the gate valve is only on the left. In the store, which has a removable heel, there is a standard canister with CO 2 and a hopper for storing spare bullets. The front sight has a stationary mount, but the rear sight micrometrically moves in two planes. The trigger is designed in the same way as the military counterpart. The slide frame moves, and the trigger mechanism is double.
At the exit from the barrel, steel balls gain a speed of 110 m / s. Thus, they develop energy in 3 joules. In addition to balls, the MP-655K pistol also shoots Diabolo bullets made of lead. A pistol magazine holds 100 balls or 8 bullets. With one can of gas, you can produce about 120 shots.
Device
The bullet flies out of the barrel under the pressure of the energy of liquefied gas, which is supplied from the can. The trigger mechanism measures the amount of CO 2 that is necessary to give the charge a certain speed. At the same time, the MP-655K (Yarygin's pistol) can shoot not only with the trigger, but also with self-cocking. Pressing the trigger also leads to the rotation of the ram, which provides multi-charge. The drum is independently charged thanks to the magnets built into it.
Model Features
Air pistol MP-655K has a false barrel of a very solid diameter - 13 mm. For gas weapons, this is rare. But such a design decision was made for a reason, and the point here is not at all the desire to imitate military weapons. The thing is that in the false barrel there is a bunker for bullets with a capacity of 100 pieces. And this is another feature of the gun. Thus, the weapon is not charged through the magazine located in the handle, but through the bolt frame. There is a bunker in the handle, but it has applied value and is just a measurer for 100 balls, well, or a capacity for spare shells.
Advantages of MR-655K
1. The Yarygin pistol, or rather its pneumatic counterpart, is made very high quality. Both metal and plastic parts can last quite a while.
2. All controls are placed conveniently, in full accordance with the original. The fuse lever is located on both sides, as is the magazine lock button (if it can be called a magazine at all, given that the bullets are charging into the shutter). This makes the gun equally comfortable for right-handed and left-handed people.
3. The soft work of all controls.
4. Large hopper for charges and convenient feeder. The ability to fire bullets, not just balls.
5. Adjustable sight in parallel and horizontal plane. As well as the presence of the Picatinny rail. Of course, you canβt put anything special on her, but some flashlight is easy.
Disadvantages of MR-655K
1. Unpresentable trigger, all kinds of inscriptions and silver color of some elements immediately give out pneumatic.
2. The backlash between the magazine and the handle, as well as between the bolt and the guides, not only affect the accuracy of fire, but also cause discomfort during operation.
3. The heel of the store is not securely fixed in the handle. As a result - a striking gap.
4. The ball is sometimes magnetized into the central hole of the drum. Removing it from there can be problematic.
Assembly / disassembly
Despite the fact that the air pistol Yarygin MP-655K is not a firearm, it is a mechanism that requires maintenance (cleaning and lubrication). For this, as well as for repair, the gun is taken apart. So, the disassembly of the gun is carried out in the following order:
1. First you need to click on the magazine lock and pull out the store itself. Pulling the heel, you can remove the ball hopper from it.
2. Before you remove the shutter, you need to remove the drum from it. Now we shift the shutter back, raise it and remove it.
3. The next step is pulling out the barrel delay and pneumatic drive. To do this, raise the front of the firing unit and remove its slots from the hooks. Incidentally, they are located inside the handle.
4. Next you need to knock out a couple of pins. The first one is the axis of the trigger, and the second is in front of the trigger.
5. Now we have access to the trigger with a spring, bunker and trigger block. Take it all out.
6. And if you unscrew the screw located under the barrel box, then the barrel can be removed.
Assemble in the reverse order.
Application
This model, as, in principle, all pneumatic weapons, is used mainly for recreational and training shooting. It will be useful to everyone who wants to acquire weapons handling skills. Moreover, the device of the pistol, as well as the process of its operation (reloading and disassembling) are very similar to the military counterpart.
The use of air guns for self-defense is not recommended. It is not able to inflict significant bodily harm, however, with proper skills and favorable conditions for firing, it is possible to neutralize a person with the help of pneumatics. But it's not that. Self-defense involves quick response and putting weapons into action in seconds. Before this model can shoot, you need to charge it with balls and install a gas bottle. And if the balls can be entered in advance, then with a balloon this will not work. Installed in the workplace, it loses pressure very quickly. Therefore, a loaded weapon can be effective in just a few hours. Therefore, the use of a gun for self-defense is possible only if you constantly put new cylinders (which cost money), or (in an emergency!) The enemy will wait until you remove the magazine from the handle, remove the heel, set cylinder and collect everything again.
MP-655K: reviews
As the reviews show, the hero of our story fully lives up to expectations. Owners note the high quality of plastic, a solid design (but it is recommended to paint over the inscriptions) and good shooting characteristics. The unusual design at first is surprising, but eventually shows all its advantages. A 100-bullet bunker is definitely great. For example, in a pneumatic analogue of a Makarov pistol, only 13 bullets are placed in a store. And charging them is rather inconvenient.
The instructions for the gun indicate that a 12-gram gas cylinder is enough for 120 rounds of MP-655K. But, as the reviews of the owners show, this is not entirely true. If you shoot aiming, making more than 70 shots is unlikely to succeed. By the way, in addition to the instructions, in the box with the gun there is a ramrod, two drums (for bullets and balls), as well as several gaskets for the gas mechanism.
In general, the impression of this gun is good. It is especially pleasing that there is no screw on the handle that secures the cylinder. This small element immediately indicates that the weapon belongs to pneumatic.
Conclusion
Here he is - the MP-655K pistol. The review and reviews of the owners helped us to get an almost complete (it remains only to shoot) idea of ββthis type of weapon. The gun is perfect for training shooting. Its price is about 4.5 thousand rubles. A toy children's pistol with plastic bullets that shoots terribly costs about three times cheaper, but it will not last a month. Therefore, the price of airguns is more than pleasant.
