Proper skin hygiene is the key to health

Human skin hygiene is a system of measures that ensure that the skin is kept in a clean, safe and well-groomed condition.

Skin hygiene is, first of all, a way to protect health from the effects of external environmental factors. A lot of diseases penetrate our body through the skin, and it is in our power to prevent most of them. The skin performs a protective function in the body, but in order for it to cope with its important task, it needs the help of its owner.

To cleanse the skin from impurities, it is important to shower every day. Washing with gel or soap should be carried out 1-2 times a week, but no more. Every day, using detergents for the entire surface of the body is undesirable. Human skin has a water-lipid coating, the pH of which is normally acidic. Pathogenic bacteria and fungi are afraid of an acidic environment, and it is difficult for them to harm the human body. With frequent use of detergents, the pH breaks and shifts to the alkaline side. This creates favorable conditions for the development of pathogenic microbes. However, skin hygiene in areas where sweat may stagnate and conditions are created for the development of bacteria should be done every day with soap. These include: perineum, legs, armpits, chest and the area under the breast (in women).

In order to strengthen the immune system and improve the health of the body, daily douche or rubbing with cold water can be performed. But people with increased irritability with cold water should be careful because it excites the nervous system. In this case, before hardening, it is better to consult a doctor.

A good firming and invigorating property has a contrast shower procedure. It takes place in several stages. First you need to get up under a warm shower and gradually increase the temperature of the water until it becomes noticeably hot, but not burning. Stay like this for about a minute, then sharply switch the water and make it cool. After several procedures and getting used to the body, water can be made completely cold. Standing under cold water for 30-60 seconds is enough, then re-open the hot one. Repeat all steps one or two more times. Contrast shower stimulates metabolic processes in the body, preserves and improves skin tone, removes toxins from the body. In addition, it has a positive effect on the functioning of blood vessels and strengthens the cardiovascular system.

Skin hygiene includes caring for it. If the skin is dry or, conversely, oily, it requires additional care. Depending on the type of skin, it is important to choose the right hygiene products. If the skin is dry, it is better to use ordinary baby soap for washing, it will help restore water-fat balance and normalize the condition of the skin. If only with the help of soap it is not possible to solve the problem, you can use moisturizers, which are widely represented in the modern cosmetic market. For oily skin, a regular toilet soap or shower gel is suitable. After washing, you can use a body scrub, which helps to exfoliate the upper layer of the epithelium and remove sebum.

Each adult conscious person independently monitors the condition of his skin and the whole organism. But no less important is the hygiene of the skin of a child who himself is not able to qualitatively perform this procedure. It is very important for parents to monitor the hygiene of their children in order to avoid unpleasant consequences in the form of various infections and diseases.

Skin hygiene, as well as hygiene of the mouth and nose, hair and nails, are an essential factor for well-being, good health and good mood. Cleanliness is the key to health!
