The Russian Embassy in Romania is a permanent diplomatic organization, which manages the entire spectrum of interests of the Russian Federation. The Russian diplomatic mission is engaged in bilateral cooperation with the Romanian side in such areas as security, trade and economic cooperation, and political interaction on key topical issues.
Relationship history
Russian-Romanian relations are used to denote all political, economic and military interactions between Russia and Romania, as well as between their predecessors.
Constant interaction between the countries began in 1878, when Romania, with the direct participation of the Russian Empire, gained independence from the Ottoman Empire.
A fundamentally new stage of relations between the countries began after the Second World War. From that moment until the fall of the Soviet Union, the leadership of the Balkan country almost unquestioningly complied with instructions received from the Russian embassy in Romania.
However, there were moments when the relationship escalated. For example, after the withdrawal of Soviet troops from Romania, the country's leadership significantly cooled to the Soviet regime.

As expected, the Russian embassy is located in the capital of Romania - Bucharest. The diplomatic mission of Russia has a rather complicated structure. In addition to the embassy and the residence of the ambassador, located in Bucharest at sos. Pavel Kiseleff, nr. 6, sector 1, as part of the diplomatic mission there is also a Consulate General in the coastal town of Konstanz. The address of the Russian Embassy in Romania has remained unchanged for many decades, despite all the difficulties that arise in relations. Such stability indicates a high confidence between the two countries, despite numerous contradictions.
Children of Russian diplomats and other Russians can receive secondary education at a school operating at the Russian Embassy in Romania.
The current state of relations
On the agenda in contemporary Russian-Romanian relations, in addition to trade and economic cooperation, there is also the issue of resolving the conflict between Ukraine and Russia.
The Russian Embassy in Romania is also engaged in memorial activities, monitors the safety of military graves of Soviet soldiers.
