In society, there is always an invisible or clearly present certain criterion from which people repel when making decisions. What needs to be done in a specific situation, and what actions will be unacceptable? There is such a measure in the conditions of capitalism - it’s purebred! Jargonism seems rude, but is used by a variety of social groups, and its interpretation is easily changed depending on the context. But how and when did the word appear, in what situations would it be appropriate? We will deal with etymology.
Where are you in a hurry?
Some philologists clearly indicate a connection with the verb “drive” or the noun “drive”. A similar version is followed by Fasmer. Moreover, the main semantic load falls on the definition of “pure” in the formation of the term under study. They mean either the pursuit of a person for a primordial object cleared of impurities, or the excellent quality of the subject. Consider possible interpretations - and then the questions will disappear.
Want to cash in?
Most Russian-speaking citizens know only one meaning. And this common meaning of the word “chistogan” breaks down into two versions:
Why exactly these? The colloquial concept arose among not the richest people, for whom every penny was a value. They could calmly pay for living with housework or exchange food for things, that is, for something “dirty” that they later needed to adjust on the farm or sell them. Against this background, money was a “clean”, universal unit for the purchase of goods or services.
When calculating, the accounting department issued hand bills, but previously deducted all taxes, thereby “clearing” earnings, and the funds received already belonged entirely to the person. So the option with personal income could appear. The definition periodically has a negative figurative meaning: profit and the pursuit of it in the framework of dubious terminology are often associated with criminal actions.
Would you like a drink?
There are also non-standard values. For some citizens, chistogan is a euphemism to denote moonshine that has gone through several degrees of filtration. A strong effect and minor consequences for the body will be a reward to those who followed the recipe and cooking technology.
Also ironically used in relation to objects related to cleaning. Local jargon occasionally goes beyond the boundaries of the collective and is decrypted in different ways. Even wagons can initially be called upon completion of unloading scrap metal, in which there is a minimum of debris.
Worth pronouncing?
There is no place for a word in official speech. And in communicating with colleagues or barely familiar people, it is better to refrain from a capacious characterization. It has a strong negative connotation, which can adversely affect your perception of you as a potential business partner or future comrade. And friends and family will easily accept a resounding concept, even if they do not approve of its use.
