Licensing of certain types of activity: concept, procedure, documents

In order to protect the legitimate interests of citizens, cultural objects and the environment, as well as to maintain the country's security, it was decided to license certain types of activities. The list of works and services for which a license must be obtained, and the procedure for such a procedure are stipulated in a special law.

The concept of licensing

Licensing is a complex of measures that includes services for issuing, suspending, reissuing and revoking licenses for various types of entrepreneurial activity. A license is a special document that authorizes a company or an individual entrepreneur to provide certain services or to carry out one or another type of work on a legal basis. Such a document can be issued both in paper and in electronic (with digital printing) version.

Licensing of certain types of activities is carried out on the principle of a single economic space, openness and accessibility of information, compliance with the law.

Activities subject to licensing

Now you need to obtain a license for about 50 types of work and services. Here are some of them:

• communication services;
• fire fighting;
• educational services;
• manufacture, sale and design of aircraft;
• private security activities;
• pharmaceutical activities;
• disposal and storage of chemical weapons;
  
• installation, design, tinning, production, testing of firearms, military equipment and weapons;
• maintenance, production and installation of medical equipment;
• drug manufacturing;
• transportation of passengers;
• space activities;
• radio and television broadcasting;
• services and work in other areas.

Licensing of certain types of activities is carried out by special bodies that have passed accreditation.

Documents for obtaining a license

In order to obtain permission to carry out certain works or services, it is necessary to submit the following data:

1. The name of your company.
2. Address and details of the organization.
3. Type (s) of activity of the company.
4. Information about the registration of the company in the tax office.
5. Documents on the payment of necessary state duties.
6. Other data.

The procedure for licensing certain types of activities

The head (representative) of the organization or individual entrepreneur submits documents to the licensing authority. The process of considering the issue of issuing a license takes about a month (longer periods are also possible). If, after analyzing the submitted data, the licensing commission detects errors and shortcomings, obtaining a license will be delayed. The applicant will have to correct all these comments and only then submit the documents again.

The validity of such a document may not be less than 5 years. After the end of this time, the entrepreneur can apply for an extension of the license. In some cases, permission is granted for an unlimited period. Licensing of certain types of activities is carried out throughout Russia.
