Technical proposal: design rules, features and sample document

The technical proposal, a sample of which will be presented in the article, is a complex of design documentation containing specified justifications (technical and economic including) the desirability of developing documents for the product. It is developed if the corresponding condition is provided for in the terms of reference.

Technical Proposal

Base

When developing a commercial and technical proposal , the following results are taken into account:

  • Analysis of the technical specifications of the customer and various options for its possible performance.
  • A comparative assessment of alternative solutions, taking into account the operational, design features of the product.

In compiling the documentation, the results of other studies may be used.

Appointment

The essence of the technical proposal is to identify specified / additional requirements for a particular product that are not specified in the terms of reference. It can be high-quality, technical specifications, etc.

The basis for determining the list of activities carried out at the stage of drafting a technical proposal is a technical task . Developers determine the work depending on the purpose and specifics of the corresponding product.

Structure Features

The technical proposal includes design documentation provided by the terms of reference in accordance with GOST 2.102-68.

When compiling electronic materials, the degree of detail of the structure and model of the product should correspond to the development stage.

commercial technical proposal

Design documentation intended for the manufacture of models in accordance with GOST 2.002-72 are not included in the technical proposal . It is allowed to attach electronic models of possible options for the product or its parts in accordance with GOST 2.052-2006.

The form of documentation (paper / electronic) is determined by the developer in agreement with the customer, if it is not defined in the terms of reference. Types of materials are determined in accordance with GOST 2.102-68. The technical proposal may contain documents in various forms.

General requirements

If you analyze any example of a technical proposal , you can see that in it a small amount of information related to the options of the developed object is usually made out as a table. This is one of the first requirements for the content of the documentation.

High-volume texts, including information related to different options, are divided into subsections and sections.

At the end of the document, a section or application can be placed. It summarizes all options in the form of text or a table.

In diagrams and drawings, images related to different layouts can be placed on one or on different sheets.

The list of structural elements of several options is drawn up in the form of a single table in which their comparative characteristics are given, or in separate tables.

General drawing

The technical proposal must contain a general view of the product or an electronic model equivalent to it. In this case, the drawing must include:

  • Images of several product variants, signatures and text part. They are necessary for comparing models, defining requirements for objects and forming an idea of the basic and layout versions, features of the interaction of elements, the principle of operation.
  • Names, designations (if any) of the components for which you need to specify technical specifications and other information or whose record serves to explain the images.
  • Description of the principle of action, indication of composition, etc.
  • Dimensions and other data applied to the image.
  • Technical characteristics of the facility. They are indicated, if necessary, for the convenience of comparing options for the overall drawing. In this case, characteristics are not given in the explanatory note, and instead a link to the diagram is indicated.

Images should be made as simple as possible.

Statement

This document includes all design materials according to the rules enshrined in GOST 2.106-96, regardless of which particular product variant they belong to.

In the column "Note" may indicate the scheme, which corresponds to the design document.

Materials may be presented in various forms. In the column "Note" in this case, indicate the appropriate type of documents.

Terms of Reference Technical Proposal

Explanatory note

It is formed in the manner prescribed by GOST 2.106-96. In this case, certain requirements for the sections should be taken into account:

  • "Introduction" - here is indicated the name, date of approval and the number of terms of reference.
  • "Purpose, scope of the product" - this section should contain information from the assignment, as well as data supplementing and specifying them. It is, in particular, a brief description of the scope and conditions of use of the product, a general description of the object for which it is intended.
  • "Technical characteristic" - here indicate power, energy or fuel consumption, productivity, efficiency and other parameters provided for in the statement of work, and additional parameters. In the same section there are data on deviations (with justification) or compliance with the requirements. In addition, it provides the results of a comparison of the main parameters of the product with the performance of analogues (both foreign and domestic production) or indicate a link to a map of quality and technical level.

Description, justification of the design

This section of the Explanatory Note indicates:

  • Characteristics and justification of the advisability of bringing product options. If necessary, an illustration or reference to electronic models is given.
  • Information on the purpose of electronic or material models (if they were made).
  • Information about the program and methods of analysis or testing, their results, data on the assessment of the conformity of layouts to requirements, including technical aesthetics and ergonomics.
  • Photos of layouts (if necessary).
  • Information about checking product options for patent purity, competitiveness.
  • Designations of key design documents in accordance with which material mockups were produced, dates and numbers of reports / protocols drawn up according to test results.
  • Information about the use in the development of inventions, about applications filed for new inventions.
  • Data on compliance of product options with the requirements of industrial sanitation and safety.
  • Disposal information.
  • Information on the level of environmental impact of the product.

Additionally

The Explanatory Note also contains sections:

  • "Calculations". They are necessary to confirm the reliability and operability of the structure. This section defines indicative indicators.
  • "Work using the product." This section contains information about the organization of activities at the place of operation of the product. For example, this may be data on the expected qualifications and the number of employees.
  • "Expected performance." Here are approximate calculations of economic efficiency from the introduction of this product into production. At the same time, the means of information and software for automation systems are indicated, if they were used in the calculations.
  • "Level of unification and standardization." Here, preliminary data on the unified and standard assembly units used in the development are given .

Additional requirements are indicated at the end of the Explanatory Note.
