Character of the animated series "South Park" Kyle Broflovsky

One of the main characters of the animated series for adults "South Park" Kyle Broflovski has long been a cult and even has its own fan club. Throughout the 19 seasons of the scandalous project by Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the emotional skeptic in a green earflaps hat is a strong opposition to Eric Cartman, an aggressive anti-Semite with sadistic tendencies. From series to series, the hero fights for justice and honesty. Kyle is more serious than the rest of the characters in the animated series, relates to the events taking place in South Park, trying to analyze them and draw conclusions. He, like his friend Stan Marsh, periodically sums up the series, saying the words: "Today I understood a lot."

The appearance of Kyle Broflovsky

Fans of Kyle rightly assume that he has Eastern European roots. A cap with ear flaps eloquently hints at this. And this is a very atypical wardrobe item for an American Jew.

He almost never takes off his hat. Neither Kyle’s trip to the synagogue nor a skull injury will make her do this. The hero sleeps in her, puts on a pile over her, and even the doctor puts bandages not on her head, but on her.

Kyle Broflovsky without a cap appears only in some episodes. So, watching the series “Little crime fighters”, viewers can see that underneath is a huge pile of red curly hair, reminiscent of an Afro hairstyle.

Green mittens and a red jacket also became indispensable attributes of the character. However, sometimes he appears on the screen and in unusual robes like a red sheet.

Kyle's appearance does not cause special emotions in girls at school. In their secret list, he takes the last place in attractiveness. Even fat Cartman is one point ahead of Kyle. From resentment, the hero decides to set fire to the school. Such an emotional reaction is a typical occurrence for such a sensitive character as Kyle Broflovsky. A photo of the hero is presented below.

Hero personality

At school, Kyle studies exceptionally well. According to Mr. Harrison, he is very smart and quick-witted. Kyle grabs everything on the fly and even has some talents, for school success, however, not having a relationship. He plays the guitar perfectly, skillfully handles weapons and is known as a first-class hacker.

And in moments of mental anguish, Kyle Broflovsky can plunge headlong into psychology and philosophy. Once, doubting the existence of the Tooth Fairy, the hero begins to explore the problems of being. As a result of scientific research, he questions his own existence. And this is not surprising, because Kyle, in principle, is addicted to nature. Sometimes this brings the hero to the point of absurdity, and he is ready to bombard Pearl Harbor, imbued with the ideas of the chinpocomon.

At the same time, Kyle's emotionality and his desire for justice sometimes push him to actions that are unexpected for everyone. Having watched the film “Passion of Christ”, the hero becomes terrified and decides to make the Jews apologize for the murder of Jesus before the whole world. Kyle even recognizes the truth of the ardent racist Cartman, who despises all representatives of this nationality. And this is really a sign of a severe emotional shock, because he hates Eric.

The eternal enmity of Kyle Broflovsky and Eric Cartman

Cartman and Kyle are sworn enemies. Eric constantly taunts Broflovski because of his nationality. Kyle, in response, gives him rude “compliments” about obesity. In the first seasons, the jokes of the heroes are harmless, but later their relationship goes into a stage of extreme hatred and aggression towards each other.

Kyle is ready to destroy Cartman. As a result of another “exchange of courtesies,” Broflovsky begins to beat him with a club and cannot stop. And when it turns out that Eric is sick with AIDS, Kyle breaks into hysterical laughter.

However, Broflovsky does not leave his comrade in trouble, although he sincerely hates him. In the episode "It's Jersey," Cartman falls into the clutches of the effeminate creature Snooki, who dreamed of raping him. Kyle, despite his disgust and hostility to Eric, saves him.

In the same series, the background of Broflovsky's emotional instability is revealed. It turns out that his mother Sheila, like Snooki, is from New Jersey, where, according to the plot, some psychopaths live. Perhaps that is why Kyle Broflovsky sometimes wants to undergo plastic surgery or kill Cartman. However, Eric wants to destroy everything that does not interfere with friendship. After all, Kyle and Cartman sometimes get along well and even engage in joint business.

True Friendship: Kyle and Stan

With the rest of the characters in the animated series, Broflovsky has an excellent relationship. However, a truly strong friendship connects him only with Stan Marsh. Both heroes come to each other's aid in any situation, and only sometimes quarrels occur between them, as in the episode that tells about an ice man.

Schoolchildren find him in a cave. They decide to give an ice man a name. Each has its own option, but no one is ready to make concessions. Having quarreled with each other, Stan and Kyle hope to find support from Cartman. However, a close friendship with Eric, as the heroes argue after the final fight, is a sad prospect, so the conflict between Stan and Kyle is exhausting itself. Such episodes in "South Park" can be counted on the fingers.

The friendship between Wall and Kyle is something predetermined, since both heroes embodied the alter ego of their creators. The prototype of Stan was Trey Parker, and Kyle - Matt Stone, who also turned out to be Jewish by nationality.

They sing together in the intro to the animated series, periodically summarize the episodes and comment on the death of Kenny, which is the "chip" of the whole project. It is Kyle Broflovsky who exclaims “Bastards!” in response to Stan's indignant words, "They killed Kenny!"

Relationship with Kenny

With a victim of air crashes, arbitrary spontaneous combustion, alien invasions and other ridiculous incidents that invariably lead to death, Kyle maintains a warm relationship, although he sometimes allows himself to chuckle at his friend’s family poverty.

He has no conflicts with Kenny, and when he again dies from a muscle disease, though, unlike previous incidents, it is long and painful, Kyle is most worried about his fate. He shows sincere concern for a friend and deals with Cartman, who decides to build a business on his next death.

The main character's family

Kyle comes from a Jewish family. The hero sincerely loves the father, and from time to time his mother feels a sense of fear. Fighting Sheila Broflovsky in impulses taking care of her son greatly limits his freedom, prompting him to extraordinary actions.

In the episode "The Story of Nasty Harassment," Kyle decides to build democracy in Cuba and writes an emotional letter to Fidel Castro, only to go to a concert that his mother will not let him go. Sheila Broflovski could never have imagined that her son would complete her task in one evening.

Kyle is not the only child in the family. He has a younger brother, Ike, whom he kicks regularly. And this is not violence, but a kind of game between the heroes. It is called: "Kick the baby." In flight, brother Kyle Broflovsky laughs merrily. Ike is Canadian by birth. In the Broflovsky family, he is an adopted son, which, however, does not affect the relationship of the brothers.

Death and Resurrection

Some characters in the animated series periodically die, and Kyle is no exception. Throughout the history of the South Park, Kyle dies three times, and once in Cartman’s AIDS dreams.

Two more times he loses his life in episodes from the trilogy about Imaginary. In the second part, Kyle dies from mortal wounds inflicted by Chelmedvedosvin. Doctors announce to friends about his death, but Cartman is not able to withstand such a blow, so he begins to give a comrade a heart massage. How else? After all, Kyle disproved his desire.

For the last time, the hero dies in the final part of the trilogy along with Stan Marsh as a result of a nuclear explosion, but they are resurrected by Butters, who returned Imaginland with the power of thought in pre-war time.

Character in popular culture

Kyle has gained a wide audience of fans. He is quoted and discussed on forums, fan fiction writes about him, he is imitated.
