Miostimulation is a way of influencing tissues and muscles of a personโs body with the help of electrical impulses with certain characteristics. Initially used in medicine for the rehabilitation of patients with diseases of the central nervous system and serious injuries, body myostimulation has found its application in cosmetology. With its help, you can eliminate many visible age-related changes - for example, pump up the press, tighten the buttocks, restore lost skin tone.
For the procedure, an apparatus called a muscle stimulator is used. The exposure is carried out using electrodes attached or superimposed on certain areas of the body or face. Impulse currents cause muscles to contract actively. At the same time, the effect on the subcutaneous fatty tissue, skin and blood vessels. By the effectiveness of the effect on the body, one session of myostimulation can be compared with an intensive two to three hour training. However, myostimulation, the contraindications for which should be taken into account, has a serious advantage over conventional fitness: it allows you to selectively affect those parts of the body that cannot be adjusted with the help of training.
As a result of the procedure, not only muscles are pumped up, but blood circulation and lymph flow, as well as microcirculation in tissues are improved. Due to this, myostimulation, the contraindications of which should be carefully studied before contacting a cosmetology clinic, is, among other things, an effective way to combat cellulite. It allows you to cope with postpartum stretch marks: they become less noticeable, and the skin on them begins to tan.
Indication for facial myostimulation is saggy, sagging skin (including on the eyelids), swelling and excessive fat layer, wrinkles. Peeling is usually done first, since the upper stratum corneum of cells can reduce the effectiveness of the procedure. The result of myostimulation is a tightened oval of the face, the disappearance of fine wrinkles and the transformation of pronounced, deep folds into less noticeable, getting rid of bags under the eyes, as well as a visible improvement in the condition of the eyelids - one of the most problematic areas of the face on which age-related changes are most pronounced.
However, no matter how effective and safe myostimulation is, contraindications to this procedure cannot be ignored. They are quite serious: these are, first of all, various neoplasms, renal failure, liver diseases , active tuberculosis . This method of body shaping is contraindicated in cases of circulatory disorders, blood diseases, as well as thrombophlebitis. Miostimulation of the abdomen or lumbar region can cause serious harm with urinary and cholelithiasis. An absolute contraindication to this procedure is pregnancy, as well as the presence of an implanted pacemaker in the patient. Finally, myostimulation cannot be recommended for acute inflammatory processes and skin diseases.
The optimal course is considered to be from 10-15 procedures lasting 30-40 minutes each. They are carried out with an interval of several days. The effect is noticeable after the first of them, however, it accumulates gradually, so you should not refuse further procedures after visible improvements - otherwise the latter will not last long. In some people, myostimulation, for which there are no contraindications for health reasons, can cause unpleasant sensations due to individual sensitivity to impulse currents. In this case, the procedures, unfortunately, will have to be abandoned, since getting used to it is impossible.
