More and more often from the lips of parents and teachers we hear the phrase that the exam is one of the first significant and important tests that modern adolescents will have to face, which will largely determine how their future life will turn out. Unfortunately or fortunately, this phrase is often true, because the Unified State Exam, no matter how we relate to it, has been affecting the fate of millions of graduates in the Russian Federation for several years. The results of passing the USE directly determine which university the student will enter and what profession he will master in the future.
Why pass the exam in physics?
The world is constantly changing. Today, life goes under the motto “Give technology!”, All kinds of devices and gadgets have already become an integral part of human existence, and this is not surprising, because scientific and technological progress (NTP) is making huge leaps, developing. That is why it is necessary to master technical specialties as thoroughly and as quickly as possible. Through a simple causal relationship, we can guess that today the development of such technical professions is impossible without passing the exam in physics.
Statistics: how many graduates pass the exam in physics?
Studies and surveys show that interest in passing the Unified State Exam in Physics is constantly growing, for the reasons mentioned above, this subject is gaining more and more popularity among graduates. So, in 2017, physics (21% of those passing) took one of the leading positions in the ranking of selected disciplines, traditionally losing only to social science (54%). Fortunately, in 2018 this result did not change at all.
Balancing risks with your opportunities
Choosing this subject, students often wonder about whether it is difficult to pass the exam in physics. Answer: yes, it is difficult. However, this answer can be attributed to any subject handed over in this format, whether it be physics, mathematics, history, biology, or even Russian. To one degree or another, each of these disciplines is complex and difficult to study, and each of them requires a certain amount of cost and effort.
Of course, in order to successfully pass the exam in physics, you must have a certain mentality: analytical or mathematical, for people with a humanitarian background, studying this discipline can be much more difficult. What you need to know in order to pass physics (USE)? First of all, it is necessary to freely understand the school material, to know some formulas, laws.
Exam format and KIM structure
Examination work in physics consists of two parts. The first part contains 24 tasks, each of which needs to be given a short answer (it can be a word, number or a combination of numbers). In the second - 8 tasks, 5 of which require a detailed and informed answer.
To complete the examination work in this discipline, 235 minutes are allotted:
- about 5-10 minutes for tasks with a short answer;
- about 15-20 minutes for tasks with a detailed answer;
The content of the work is divided into several topics from the school course of physics, these are mechanics, molecular physics, electrodynamics and the basics of the special theory of relativity, as well as quantum physics and elements of astrophysics.
Preparation for the exam: where to start?
Answering the question of whether it is difficult to pass the exam in physics, we gradually move on to the topic of preparation. Before you start methodically solving tasks, evaluate the level of your knowledge in this discipline, decide on a trial version, get used to this exam format (this section of the plan only works if you have basic school knowledge). Next, be sure to go to the website of the FIPI (Federal Institute of Pedagogical Measurements), look at the codifier, certifier and demo version of the exam, this will help you determine which topics need special emphasis, and track whether there have been changes in the criteria for evaluating work and whether new tasks have been added. After that, special attention should be paid to the topics that are most in KIMs (control and measuring materials), and which of them cause the greatest difficulties and fears.
Short training course
What do you need to pass the exam in physics? First of all, patience and hard work. Without them, you can hardly achieve success. For the first two months, solve tasks on topics that cause you the greatest doubt and difficulties, then you can proceed to the development of the test to speed up its implementation (a large number of completed tasks will give you an advantage, since often the exam meets exact tasks or modified copies of tasks of past years )
If we talk about the tasks of the second part, then they need to be solved, as in the exam itself, prescribing it, the SI system and the solution of the problem as detailed as possible, not forgetting the units. This practice will bring your actions to automatism and perfection: this will save you from taking points for too short a decision. At first, if difficulties arise, take tasks with a ready-made solution, then proceed to the independent solution of similar problems, stuffing your hand. Another plus of such a study of tasks from the second part is the quick memorization of more formulas.
USE: how to pass physics by 100 points?
In this discipline, a 100-percent outcome is real, but unlikely. Each year, the number of physics students is constantly changing. Any high-scoring result both in physics and in other subjects is determined by a number of factors: focused training, independent search for materials, participation in regional and All-Russian Olympiads, attending specialized circles, electives, consultations, tutoring, daily progression of options, a certain mentality, general erudition, and, of course, a share of luck.
So, if you ask us whether it is possible to pass the exam in physics, we will answer that it is possible, it is very simple, since the minimum threshold is low. However, if you ask whether it is possible to pass the exam in physics by 100 points, we are unlikely to answer anything intelligible, since such a result depends on a combination of very ambiguous factors that can hardly be predicted.
Useful Tips
- Try to solve at least one option per week.
- Do not necessarily try to learn all the formulas, most of them can be easily derived independently by substitution.
- There is no need to memorize permanent units either, since they are all given in the KIM text.
- Do not forget to periodically repeat the basic laws and rules, this will greatly help in solving problems where a theoretical justification is needed.
- Solve trial options on sites where there is a special timer to learn how to track how long it takes you to solve a particular problem (recall that the total exam time is 235 minutes).
- Do not be afraid to ask teachers for help with a solution.
- Do not focus on whether it is difficult to pass the exam in physics, just decide.
Finally
An indisputable fact, the Unified State Examination is one of the first significant and important tests that graduates will have to face, and on which their life will depend on a lot. However, the USE is also not the end of the world, but an unsatisfactory result is not a tragedy. Do not lose heart after failure, move forward, look for ways to retreat, try, try again, train yourself, pump your knowledge, do not stay in place. Do not exaggerate the problem, do not think about whether it is difficult to pass the exam in physics, chemistry, geography, a foreign language and other disciplines, prepare carefully and systematically, wisely, and you will succeed.
