It’s always good to have a “reserve parachute." For example, celebrity children, having failed in their own business, may at least try to follow in the footsteps of their more successful relatives. But not Jake Busey, he decided to do so right away. And even at the age of seven. And in the article we find out what came of it.
Biography and career start
Jake Busey (photo below) was born June 15, 1971 in the west of Los Angeles County, in the city of Malibu. As a child, he often left home following his father, Gary Busey, who was then actively building a film career. True, while the guy was more interested in music. He is now skillfully handling drums and bass.
Although heredity very soon made itself felt, and at the age of seven he got his first role - a little boy named Henry Darin in the crime drama “Probationary Period” (1978).
Process has begun
Having taken a taste, Jake Busey firmly decided to follow in the footsteps of a relative. It is not known whether his father’s popularity or his innate talent helped him, but after several rather modest supporting roles, he almost headed the cast of the average action movie The Gang of Motorcyclists (1994). And he consolidated his success by co-starring with Reese Witherspoon and Stephen Dorff in the comedy drama Japanese City (1994) about the unusual seizure of shop visitors by a group of terrorists.
All this played a positive role and directed the career of the actor in the right direction. It cannot be said that every film with him turned out to be successful. But invitations to shoot rained like coins from an old slot machine. Moreover, the format was diverse, starting with comedy and ending with the thriller. Probably, there is no genre in which Jake Busey has not yet tried himself.
The filmography of the actor now has several dozen paintings. Consider the most successful of them.
The Japanese City (1994)
The dramatic film with a comedy bias directed by Jeffrey Levy tells how the careless visitors of an American store find themselves captured by a terrorist group under the strange name “Broken Image”. Its members behave strangely. Their goal is to hold hostages for 36 days, and broadcast everything that happens in the store on national television.
Naturally, they will not tolerate failures from the participants. Everyone who dares to resist will be immediately killed. This may seem like a funny joke to some, but the first victim among the hostages will show that this is not so.
Star Troopers (1997)
When Paul Verhoeven decided to film the movie Robert Heinlein's "Starship Troopers", Jake Busey was among the other actors. Films of this scale and with such a budget in his collection have not yet met. The science fiction action movie shows a distant future in which mankind has to fight with arachnids - giant monsters from another star system. Wanting to take part in the war, a guy with a girl - Rico and Carmen - come to the army.
Carmen becomes a pilot, and Rico, who has excellent physical characteristics, is selected as a soldier. He quickly becomes a squad leader, manifesting himself in training. But this is only a study, and a real war awaits with merciless and reasonable bugs ahead.
March Cats (2001)
In the American youth comedy, Gregory Porrier talks about a company of friends who bet on a large sum of money that will go to the last bachelor of them. Years passed, and there were only two applicants for the win - Michael and Kyle (Jake Busey). Moreover, the latter has more chances to win, because for some reason he hates women with all his heart.
But Michael is aground, and he urgently needs money. Therefore, he goes to the trick and negotiates (of course, not for free) with a beautiful girl named Natalie. Her task is to first fall in love, and then marry Kyle.
"Travel Companion 2" (2003)
More than 15 years have passed since the release of the first "Companion", when Louis Morneau dared to present the thriller with a sequel. Jim Halsey was never able to fully recover from those terrible events, because of which he lost his girlfriend. That incident made him tough, but at the same time cautious. True, this did not stop him from being back on that track, only in the company of another girlfriend.
He and Maggie were about to visit a longtime friend, and Jim vowed to himself that he would not put anyone in the car on the way. For a while, he did just that, until a man with a broken motorcycle appeared on the road. Then Maggie can't stand it and lets in a companion (Jake Busey).
“Deadly insult” (2010)
Perhaps, we dwell on the criminal drama of Mark Young, which was distinguished not only by an unusual plot, but also by an impressive cast. A small roadside cafe in a godforsaken place. There are nine people in it, including the owner of the establishment and the waitress. Everyone is silent when the local radio station starts broadcasting that somewhere nearby there is absolutely the murder of the farmer and his whole family. And when a stranger enters the cafe, all suspicion falls on him.
One of the visitors, police Lonnie, on the advice of a waitress, begins to question the guy. He takes offense and leaves the cafe. But after a while he returns with a shotgun and the intention to independently interrogate everyone and figure out the real killer.
