A driver’s license (driver’s license) should be understood as a document that gives a citizen the right to drive vehicles of different categories. In this article, it would be advisable to consider in a detailed way the driver’s license of a new sample and the transcript of all categories known today.

Driving license of a new sample: decoding of all categories
It must be borne in mind that starting in 2013, new categories were activated and, accordingly, subcategories of driver's licenses. Category C
In this chapter, it will be advisable to consider the decoding of the categories and subcategories of a driver’s license , namely, category C:
- C - cars, the mass of which is more than three and a half tons, including the trailer, the mass of which is not more than 750 kilograms.
- C1 - cars, the maximum weight of which varies from three and a half to seven and a half tons.
- CE - a category C car with a trailer weighing from 750 kilograms to three and a half tons.
- C1E - cars weighing more than three and a half tons, but less than seven and a half tons. Such cars are usually coupled to a trailer weighing more than 750 kilograms. It is important to add that the total weight should not exceed twelve tons.
Category D
Now consider the decryption of the category of driver’s license D:
- D - cars intended primarily for the carriage of passengers. As a rule, they have more than eight seats, not including the driver. By the way, if necessary, this also includes a trailer, the mass of which is not more than 750 kilograms.
- D1 - cars, the number of seats in which varies from 8 to 16, not including the driver.
- DE is a car of this category with a trailer, the mass of which strictly varies from 750 kilograms to three and a half tons.
- D1E is a DE car with a trailer weighing from 750 kilograms to 12 tons.
What other categories exist?
Considering the decoding of categories in the new rights , in addition to the above, the following points should be noted:
- M - quadricycles, scooters and mopeds, the engine capacity of which is not more than 50 centimeters cubic.
- Tm - exclusively trams.
- Tb - exclusively trolleybuses.
Categories A, A1
Let's consider each of the presented transcripts of new categories of driver’s license in more detail. Thus, category "A" in any case gives the citizen the opportunity to control a motorcycle. In accordance with paragraph 1.1 of the first chapter of the rules of the road, a mechanical two-wheeled vehicle without or with a side trailer should be considered a motorcycle. It is important to add that 3-wheel and 4-wheel mechanical vehicles are equated to motorcycles today, which are determined by the curb weight of about 400 kilograms.
It is also advisable to classify category A1 as motorcycles, however, the only difference between this and the previous category is the vehicle power (in this case, from 50 to 125 cm 3 ). In other words, a scooter belongs to the transport that is allowed to drive, having the category in question.
Driving license: transcript of all categories. Category B
It is important to know that category B gives the citizen the ability to control a passenger car mass not exceeding three and a half tons. In addition, the number of seats in it should not be more than eight. By the way, in this case, a trailer weighing no more than 750 kilograms is allowed. In accordance with these traffic rules, it would also be advisable to include the management of vehicles weighing no more than three and a half tons, which is coupled to a trailer exceeding a mass equal to 750 kilograms, but not exceeding the mass of a car without load. In this case, the total weight should not be more than three and a half tons.
Category B1 gives an individual the ability to drive a 3-wheel or 4-wheel vehicle. However, its mass should not be more than 550 kilograms. The BE category fully permits driving a category B vehicle, which is coupled to a trailer with a mass exceeding 750 kilograms, as well as the mass of the car itself without load. It should be noted that here the main condition for the composition is the total mass, which is more than 3.5 tons.
Consider the remaining categories
Having an open driver category C, you can deal with cars weighing more than 3.5 tons. This also includes cars with trailers up to 750 kg. Category C1 excludes cars of category D. It should be noted that the permissible mass of vehicles in this group varies from 3.5 to 7.5 tons. In addition, it is possible to drive a vehicle that is coupled to a trailer with a mass not exceeding 750 kilograms.
Under the category CE should be understood the category that allows you to drive vehicles of category C, which is coupled to a trailer with a mass exceeding 750 kilograms, but not exceeding 3.5 tons. It is important to keep in mind that to open the named category, you must first open the category C.
Category C1E gives citizens the right to drive vehicles of category C1 with a weight that varies from 3.5 to 7.5 tons. This vehicle must be coupled to a trailer weighing more than 750 kilograms, but not exceeding the mass of the car without load. It must be added that the main condition here is the exclusion of the total weight, which exceeds twelve tons.
You need to know that category D means driving cars intended primarily for the transport of individuals. In addition to military seating, they have more than eight seats. In addition, it is permitted to drive vehicles of the above category, which are coupled to a trailer with a mass not exceeding 750 kilograms under any circumstances. It is important to know that, in accordance with the innovations, buses also fall under this category.
It is important to keep in mind that today the category E driver's license has recently disappeared from the everyday life of drivers, however it has been assigned to other categories that are considered to be the main ones. In the current 2017, the category M assumes the relevance of the right to drive passenger quadricycles and mopeds. To make a driver’s license in this category, you just have to open any other.
And finally, the categories Tm, Tb provide an individual with the ability to control trolleybuses and trams. It should be noted that the previously mentioned categories in the driver's license were not in the form of a separate column. So, they were entered in special marks. However, with the change of rules and the opening of innovations, the situation has somewhat changed, which does not play a significant role in practical terms.
Decoding category AS
In the final chapter, it would be appropriate to consider a driver’s license and AS transcript. After a new model of driver’s rights (driver’s license) was put into circulation, most motorists “tired” themselves with questions regarding new categories and subcategories. In addition, they are still interested in the problem of having the right to control certain types of transport, provided they have specific categories. The most significant issue in this case is appropriate to consider the special marks AS and MS in the twelfth column of the reverse side of the driver’s rights. They can be seen under the condition of an open category A or B, but not both (combined).
A driver's license transcript AS literally means Automotive Steerin. Translated, this is equivalent to the automotive type of steering. What is necessary to understand by the named definition? In other words, the steering wheel appears here as a specific wheel (rather than a stick, an arc or other). Thus, the AS mark is placed in the twelfth column of the driver’s license and in the line of the subcategory “B1”, which implies the following: the driver has the right to drive tricycles and motorcycles, the type of steering wheel of which is automobile (that is, with a steering wheel).
