Podolsk is a city located in the south of Moscow and rich in its history. Particularly interesting episodes related to military operations. So, it is mentioned that in the city Kutuzov’s regiments were located in the Patriotic War of 1812, and after more than a hundred years, in 1941, cadets of the local military school on their own contributed to the detention of enemy troops. In July of that year, almost from the first weeks of the war, at the local initiative of city residents and authorities, the District Military Clinical Hospital 1586 in Podolsk began to write its story.
Appearance and renaming
The institution began functioning as a hospital in September 1941. It was then that the first military began to arrive here, injured in battle and in need of medical care. A month later, in October, hard times began at the hospital. The battles near Moscow became increasingly fierce, German tanks broke through to the capital, the number of victims increased. Information has been preserved on the average number of victims who came here per day. About seven hundred people daily arrived at the Podolsky hospital.
As a result, due to the rapid advance of the enemy, the medical institution was moved to Moscow at the end of the same autumn month. During its existence in the capital, he was given the name of the District Military Clinical Hospital in 1586 in Podolsk. The institution returned to its hometown only ten years later, in 1951, having settled already in a new place - in a building that, when laid, was conceived as the future House of Officers. Over a period of time, the hospital began to grow in new buildings, which housed a clinic, hospital, medical laboratory and other departments.
In 1979, the USSR took part in hostilities in Afghanistan. Over the 9 years of armed conflict, more than a thousand and a half wounded have been brought into the walls of the Podolsk District Military Clinical Hospital and other medical institutions in the Moscow Region. Doctors and nurses provided the necessary assistance, contributed to the speedy recovery of compatriots in all possible ways.
Further participation of the country in the battles during the Chechen campaigns also “supported” the turbulent working activities of the 1586 hospital, and on the shoulders of its employees lay the salvation of the lives of most of the injured soldiers (about four thousand).
For more than ten years, the hospital has been led by the Honored Doctor of the Russian Federation Evgeny Dolgov.

Current situation
For many years, the Military Hospital in Podolsk has been working on theoretical and practical, professional training of specialist doctors who have already received a diploma. Such additional education of mid-level medical personnel is carried out at several stages of retraining. Newly made students listen to various lectures, participate in seminars and practices. The course ends with the final certification of students. After successfully passing all the test tests, the student receives a document attesting to his medical education and competence as a specialist in this field.
Each year, the Military Hospital in Podolsk acts as a base for the collection of the district’s medical management and primary doctors. Such fees serve not only as a wonderful school, but also as a place for the mutual exchange of experience between colleagues. Ten years ago, for the first time, a doctrine of a scientific and practical nature took place, the purpose of which was to teach the quick reception and distribution of patients, the provision of first emergency medical care, and the rehabilitation of treated wounded. The hospital is also a regular participant in various exercises, which are often held on its basis, and various competitions between employees.
