Value

Are “wizard” and “sorcerer” similar concepts? The question is interesting. According to the explanatory dictionary, yes, it is. It says the following: "The same as the wizard." Therefore, to understand the meaning of the word "sorcerer", you need to explain the meaning of the noun "wizard":

  1. Sorcerer, sorcerer.
  2. A man, charming with something, captivating others.

I must say that, in contrast to its synonym, the "sorcerer" does not have a second meaning, it is connected by inextricable bonds only with the magical world. By the way, this is also confirmed by language practice, for we will never tell the cook or actor that he is a sorcerer, people who turn their craft into art are wizards. Some dark force blows from the object of study, although from a formal point of view there is no linguistic difference between the wizard and the sorcerer. But the latter is necessarily portrayed in the imagination as malicious and, of course, crazy.

It is clear that sorcerers are sorcerers. The latter, oddly enough, can be both evil and good. Sorceresses, for example, are found in fairy tales of two kinds, and if a man takes a similar role, he will certainly be evil. Good magicians call themselves wizards, although, probably, after a series of films and books about Harry Potter, everything will be completely mixed up.

Synonyms

Like every word, ours needs replacements from time to time. The theme is magical and mysterious, but nothing mysterious is observed in semantic analogs. So the list:

  • witch;
  • the magician;
  • wizard;
  • miracle worker;
  • a wizard;
  • wizard.

Let the reader forgive, but a repetition is inevitable of those synonyms for the word "sorcerer", which have already been found in the text above. But let’s leave it. Let's talk better about more interesting things.

Traditionally, in our language, thanks to the Brazil national football team, the nickname of the Wizards of the ball has become fixed.

And the wizard is a sorcerer. This is actually a very old synonym for a wizard. But the most interesting thing is not this, but the fact that the “wizard” is a “miracle worker,” and, therefore, an “eccentric.” These are all related definitions. But the "wizard" is a positive characteristic, and the "eccentric" has lost its position, and so began to be called those who deviate from social norms. Therefore, we decided to restore historical justice at least partially.

Where to see wizards?

It would seem a strange question. After all, there are no such places. No, they are! Another thing is that wizards are found exclusively where the imagination gives itself free rein. We risk, of course, falling into banality, but you can watch the following films:

  1. A series of films about Harry Potter.
  2. The cult Tolkien trilogy “The Lord of the Rings”.
  3. "Mary Poppins" (1964).
  4. “My Terrible Nanny” (2005).
  5. The Wizards (1982).

The list is predictable, but this is not the point. It is a merit to see magic where it is revealed. It is much more difficult to consider magic where it is completely imperceptible at first glance.

People do magic every day, when they again and again force themselves to fulfill their duty in relation to society, although work has long been tired, and generally pay little. When women and men combine several functions and social roles, and cope with them well. It is necessary to see the magic behind the ordinary, because the latter is also bored that they want to leave him and soar along with the exalted. When we learn to see a deep meaning in everyday existence, our life will become a little better. In other words, a sorcerer is an opportunity that is always with us.
