A. S. Orlov made an invaluable contribution to the development of domestic cinema. They say about such: a talented person is talented in everything. The Soviet and Russian film actor, director and screenwriter realized himself not only professionally - he is a loving husband, a caring father and a grandfather who does not respect the souls of his grandchildren.
Biography
The future director Alexander Orlov was born in early August 1940 in a young family of promising football player Sergei Orlov. After completing his studies at school, he entered the acting faculty of VGIK, where G. Kozintsev and S. Skvortsova became his mentors.
Alexander Sergeevich began his creative career with a responsible position as the head of the Moscow experimental pantomime theater “Ektemim”. Since 1965 he became a teacher of the pantomime class at VGIK, and ten years later he decided to realize himself as the director of the Mosfilm film studio. Director Alexander Orlov is known as the creator of a number of television productions.
After the turbulent events of the early 1990s, he continued his professional career at the film studio named after M. Gorky and the creative association "Screen".
Personal life
Orlov Alexander Sergeevich has been married to actress and TV presenter Alla Budnitskaya for 60 years. Their marriage can be called perfect, despite the fact that she is friendly and disposed to communication, and he is closed, shy and laconic.
Future spouses met at a time when the young man was just starting to try himself in directing. As a director, Alexander Orlov never appointed Budnitskaya to lead roles.
Alla soon after marriage got into a terrible car accident, barely survived, having undergone several operations and clinical death. Then she was given a terrible diagnosis: a woman can never have children. Alexander consoled his wife, and the couple took the adopted child. And now, an adult actress - Daria Drozdovskaya - gave foster parents two beautiful grandchildren.
Director Alexander Orlov has a brother - Gennady, a sports commentator.
Creative activity
Trying to realize his natural talents to the greatest extent, Alexander tried himself in the acting field. Among the most famous films with his participation: “Year as Life”, “Potter’s Wheel”, “Sisters of Liberty”. But his filmography as a director and screenwriter is much more voluminous.
Orlov’s directorial debut is considered the children's adventure musical film “The Amazing Boy”. During the filming process, the director met the then little-known Alla Pugacheva. Feeling her tremendous potential, the cinematographer subsequently attracted the singer to work on her projects. So, two years later, her voice sounded again in his tape “Train Stop - Two Minutes”.
But the success of the film “The Woman Who Sings” is hardly comparable to any other project of the director. The film became the leader of the Soviet film distribution, and Pugacheva was recognized as the best actress of 1978.
Inspired by success, Alexander Orlov makes the following TV shows: "Monsieur Lenoir, who ...", "Gobsec" and "On the Knives".
At the same time, the author gives preference to the film adaptations of classic literary works. One of Orlov’s best works is rightfully considered the film “The Secret of Edwin Drud” (1980). The television play was staged based on an unfinished novel by C. Dickens. The picture makes a lasting impression with stunning English authenticity, close to the reference "Sherlock Holmes" by I. Maslennikov.
