“The queen gave birth to a son or a daughter on the night ...” This passage from the work of A.S. Pushkin's “The Tale of Tsar Saltan” is very consonant with the topic of hermaphroditism, which is relevant at all times. We sometimes think about how it feels to be such a person? What kind of feeling when you are completely devoid of sex? And how does this still affect personal life?

First of all, it is worthwhile to understand that hermaphrodite people are individuals with sexual characteristics of both men and women. The name goes back to Greek mythology, when the passionately in love Hermaphrodite (the son of Hermes and Aphrodite) decided to unite with the nymph Salmakida. In mythology they are called androgyns - mythical creatures, first- humans, combining both the masculine and the feminine. But this is just a mythology set forth by Plato, and in real life everything is different. After all, hermaphrodite people are completely barren. But how in our time to live, realizing that you are a middle-class man and cannot have children. Only one case is known when hermaphrodite was capable of normal sexual relations. This individual had a penis of 14 cm and a vagina of 8.5 cm. She also had both ovaries and testicles. She was experiencing menstruation and spewing a seed, she could live both as a man and as a woman. But this is an isolated case. Often bisexual hermaphrodite people instead of ovaries have a mixture of tissue from the testes and ovaries, which cannot produce any hormones: it has no follicles and no eggs. Often there is a combination of the penis and vagina, or the penis and chest size 4.

Most often, hermaphrodites are people whose genes contain a mutation that rewards their chosen one with both female and male genital organs. Less commonly, the culprit is heredity. Also, hermaphrodite people are born in marriages that are concluded between blood relatives. Overall, less than one percent of the world's population is androgyne. Previously, they were almost impossible to identify, since they tried to hide their belonging to the middle family. To confirm or deny the presence of hermaphroditism in humans, it is necessary to conduct a series of tests, to pass many tests, including chromosomal ones.
Many authors in their teachings addressed this difficult topic. One of them - Eugenidis Jeffrey - in his author's work “Middle Sex” clearly described the state of a person when he learns that she is he, as well as the future life of hermaphrodite among ordinary people. But all this happened in the 20s of the last century ...

Time passes, mores change, at the moment the attitude towards hermaphrodite people is quite tolerant. But there remains a church, which to this day does not perceive them as full-fledged people, believing that such a person should choose who he wants to be: a man or a woman. But this is almost impossible, despite the fact that surgical repair gives the result. All due to the fact that hermaphrodite people cannot exactly know which gender they belong to. They will make a woman out of them, and they are more reminiscent of a man - by force, by the structure of the figure. Or, on the contrary, having become a man, they resemble a woman by the fragility of their figure and tenderness of their faces. There is and will always be a way out - it is to come to terms with who you are and accept it, no matter how bitter the truth.
