A talented artist devoted his whole life to creativity, combining poetry, music and acting. But Pyotr Mamonov with his proudly raised head overcomes his thorny path to this day.
Childhood
In the spring of 1951, on April 14, the famous musician, poet and artist Pyotr Mamonov was born. His biography is very impressive. Then, in the family of a translator of Scandinavian texts and a specialist in the field of blast furnaces, no one could even suggest that their son would become such an iconic person. Born in Moscow, the boy spent all his childhood years in the famous Bolshoi Karetny Lane. It should be noted that from a young age the boy possessed very extraordinary abilities that could not be overlooked, but his artistry even prevented him from gaining knowledge at school. Actually, because of the scenes with the elements of the circus that Peter arranged at school, he was expelled twice from elementary schools.
Poetic addictions
The guy showed a craving for poetry at an early age, since then he has not stopped writing. Since poetry and music became the constant companions of the young man, in the mid-sixties a young admirer of the Beatles group created his first musical group, Express, and already began performing with the group at school parties. Mamonov's artistry did not remain unclaimed. The solo performance “Levis”, the action of which takes place on the far platform of the trolleybus, became the debut in the theatrical work of the young actor.
Peter Mamonov, biography: student years, first earnings

Pyotr Nikolayevich Mamonov received his technical education in 1979 at the Moscow Polygraphic College, after which he studied for three years (from 1979 to 1982) at the Moscow Polygraphic Institute, at the Faculty of Editing, but the student failed to finish it. Despite this, Mamonov, who is fluent in English and Norwegian, is engaged in translations, which later are safely published in poetic anthologies. The guy participated in the Moscow youth hippie movement and supported him one of the first. Also in the yard company leadership qualities prevailed. The career of the future artist corresponded to all the traditions of that time. He began with the Moscow printing house “Red Proletarian” as a printer, later in the letter department of the journal “Pioneer” was headed by Peter Mamonov. The biography has several places of work, and not in his specialty: he had to work in the boiler room, in the boiler room as an operator, and a bath attendant, even a lift and a loader. Such moments of life did not affect the quality of acting. The filmography of Peter Mamonov has more than twenty film roles.
Becoming a musician
Since 1980, to the poems that the guy did not stop writing, music was added, he began to compose songs. So, in 1983, an adult, thirty-two-year-old Peter, will create his own musical group “Sounds of Mu”, and why the group has such a name, Peter Mamonov himself cannot remember. The musician also founded a style that is a mixture of poetry, theater and music - “Russian folk hallucination”. From the very beginning, the conceptually extravagant group consisted of only two participants. Mamonov himself was on vocals and guitar, and on stage drums - stepbrother Aleksey Bortnichuk, by the way, later Aleksey already played the guitar. Since the creation of the group, the only permanent, unchanged member was Peter Mamonov, whose photos are presented in the article. A little later Pavel Khotin appeared in the group (keys). Lipnitsky Alexander, performing bass, and Alexander Alexandrov (bassoon) joined the group in 1984.
The Life of Sounds Mu
The group made its first “appearance" in the spring of 1984, when Artem Troitsky and Sasha Lipnitsky organized a concert at a graduate meeting in Moscow special school No. 30, where Bortnichuk, Mamonov and Lipnitsky studied at one time. Since 1985, the group began its active concert activity. And in 1988, in the summer, the group released its “first brainchild” - “Simple Things”, an album that was produced by Vasily Shumov, who is the leader of the Center group. Another album, entitled “Sounds of Mu,” the musicians recorded and released in London at the Land Records studio in 1988 with Brian Eno, an English producer. Brian Eno worked with famous groups such as Roxy Music, Utah, Seven Tolking Hands. "Sounds of Mu" began to conduct touring activities. Tours in the UK and Europe were organized by Oral Records. The success of the group was tremendous, the tour took place in Hungary, Germany, Italy, Poland, France. The musical group visited numerous festivals with tours. There were two tours to the United States, under the auspices of Warner Brothers.
Fracture
Upon returning to the Soviet Union, the collective recorded another album in 1991 - Transnadezhnost. Then they informed everyone about the breakup of the group. At the sunset of the 1990s, one person remained in her, so she became a solo project of Pyotr Nikolayevich Mamonov.

Alexander Lipnitsky is engaged in journalism, Khotin is experimenting in the forefront and progressive rock. Despite such events, the wife of Peter Mamonov, Olga Ivanovna Mamonova, always supported her husband, being the manager of all his solo projects. From 1991 to 1995, the hero of our article and A. Bortnichuk worked on a joint project - “Mamonov and Alexey”. In 1994 , Evgeny Kazantsev, a famous bass player, and Kistenev Yuri (Henk) were invited to the group, later Andrei took Nadolsky in his place. Together they recorded the album "Rough Sunset." In 1994, along with Shumov, Vasya Mamonov recorded "The Russians Sing." In the summer of 1995, while in the village, Peter finishes working on the most difficult music piece to comprehend - the album "The Life of Amphibians As It Is." However, having recorded the album, the group breaks up again, failing to realize its program on stage. Over the entire musical career, the collective, in all its compositions, has released only 20 albums of songs.
Theatrical stage
At the same time, when films were released with Peter Mamonov, the actor successfully showed himself on the stage of the theater. Theater and cinema became inseparable for him, and Peter Mamonov was completely absorbed in this art.
The biography of the actor has many different roles. And both in the cinema and in the theater. So famous was Peter Mamonov - a photo of this artist hung in the lobby of the Moscow Drama Theater. Stanislavsky, where the actor played several major roles in performances. In 1991, it was “The Bald Brunette,” and in 1995, “Nobody writes to the Colonel.” Also, the actor took part in solo performances and ballet:

The beginning of an acting career
The filmography of Peter Mamonov began back in 1986, the debut was the role in the short film “How Do You Do”. Two years later, the actor played another role that was remembered by the audience. It was the film "Needle" directed by Nugmanov. These two roles of Peter Mamonov were not the main ones, in contrast to the acting in the film “Taxi Blues”, for which, in fact, he received the “Golden Palm Branch” of the Cannes Film Festival. Peter Mamonov played one of the main characters, a loving drink, a completely limp musician named Seliverstov. Taxi Blues, directed by Pavel Lungin, was released in 1990.
Work acting everyday
Following were a few films in which P. Mamonov was shot. "Anna Karamazoff", in which the main role was played by Jeanne Moreau (director Rustam Hamdanov). And the drama "Leg." But it turned out that these paintings did not gain popularity with the viewer, however, like the others that appeared in the 90s, in which Peter Mamonov was shot, the films Terra Incognita and The Time of Sorrow have not come yet. However, his acting talent was noted by the viewer. Mamonov became famous after the painting "Tsar". The film was released much later in 2009. The actor played the role of Ivan the Terrible in it.
Personal doomsday. Privacy
One of the days of 1995 in the life of Peter Mamonov there comes a moment when he feels himself useless. Interest in life has disappeared. When the brother-builder advised to buy a plot of land in the village, Peter did not even consider this idea. However, having visited those places, having seen all the beauty of the nature of the Moscow Region, he changed his mind and stayed. Having secluded himself from all civilizational benefits, Mamonov lived in the village of Efanovo, in the Vereisk district near Moscow, and only occasionally came to the city. Before the adoption of Christianity at the age of 45, the musician often consumed strong alcoholic drinks and marijuana. However, with the acceptance of faith, everything has changed. The actor struck out alcohol and drugs.
The second beginning - “Dust”
At one of the performances in 2003, the actor suffered a heart attack. In a coma, Peter Mamonov was in the intensive care unit. Children Daniel, Ilya and Ivan almost lost their father. In 2005, the film "Dust" was released, and only one Mamonov was a professional actor in the cast of a low-budget film.
Peter Mamonov. The film "Island" in the life of an actor
According to his convictions, the artist began to choose his paintings. The Island, filmed in 2006, and The Tsar, the 2009 film, touch on religion, faith, and Orthodoxy.
But especially successfully Mamonov played in the film "Island". The main role assigned to Peter by the director, in cooperation with which the actor already received the award in the 90s, very much coincided with the life of the actor himself. Some even consider the picture a kind of “autobiography” of Mamonov.
In this picture, Peter revealed his acting potential by playing the old man
Anatoly, who has atoned for his life for a murder committed in the past. Lungin along with his acting team received an award for his creation. The Nika Prize became yet another trophy of Mamonov’s acting career. Peter was also awarded the Golden Eagle Prize 6 times.
He also received awards for musical creativity: for example, in 2003 he was awarded the prize of the radio station Our Radio - Boroll for his achievement in the field of live music. And also Mamonov Peter Nikolaevich published several of his own books.
