Gossip Girl, better known among Russian viewers as “Gossip Girl,” is a popular youth television drama about the everyday life of elite American teenagers in New York. The series was based on the eponymous series of novels created by the writer Cecilia von Ziegesar. The creators of the television adaptation of Gossip Girl are Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage. The series was broadcast by the American channel CW and existed on the air for six seasons.

The main characters of Gossip Girl are young people living in the elite areas of New York City and studying at a privileged school. Usual school days are replaced by teenage intrigues and rich parties. Airing
The very first Gossip Girl series was shown on September 18, 2007 on the Canadian television channel CTV. The American premiere, for which the CW channel was responsible, was scheduled for September 19 of that year. A few days before the official show, Internet users could get free access to the first series through the iTunes service. In total, 18 episodes were shot for the first season.
After high ratings and good reviews, Gossip Girl returned with a second season, which premiered on September 1, 2008. This time the number of episodes was increased to 25. The third season was scheduled for September 14, 2009 and the fourth by 13 September 2010. In both seasons there were 22 episodes.
Judging by the reviews on the series "Gossip Girl", season 5 was much worse than the previous ones. Despite this, all the shot episodes aired (24). In May 2012, CW made an official statement that the project would receive the final sixth season, in which there would be only 10 episodes.

The number of viewers of the pilot episode of Gossip Girl, aired in the United States, amounted to 3.5 million people. After showing the whole season, there was information that the total number of viewers had reached 2.35 million. The project managed to achieve resounding success, it was broadcast worldwide in more than 197 countries.
The reviews for the Gossip Girl series were mostly positive, and the ratings were high. Spectators and critics noted the good play of the actors, a simple, but at the same time addictive plot and alluring atmosphere of glamor and luxury. By the last season, the ratings of the show began to fall, and viewers began to leave negative reviews on the series "Gossip Girl". Work on the first script was led by the creator of the popular television series "Gilmore Girls" Amy Sherman Paladino. Unfortunately or fortunately, the idea of "Gossip Girl" along with the finished script was rejected by representatives of Warner Brothers.
After some time, the producers decided to revive the show for the FOX channel, but the project was canceled again. For the third time, Gossip Girl was seriously discussed after the role of the producer went to the famous Josh Schwartz, who already had the successful television series Lonely Hearts behind him. The pilot episode made a positive impression on the television bosses, and a decision was made to launch the first season.

Gossip Girl events take place in the city of New York from the first to the last episodes. The shooting took place in Queens, Brooklyn and Manhattan. Many interior scenes involved real New York houses and apartments to create greater authenticity. For example, the heroes of the series often gathered for meetings at the Pecker Chapel. The school facade was depicted at once by several buildings of Peker's high school and the Russian Episcopal Church. And, of course, one cannot but mention the New York Palace Hotel, in which the characters Serena and Chuck live.

The selection of musical compositions for the series was made by American producer Alexandra Patsavas. Prior to that, she worked on other popular projects, such as Supernatural, Lonely Hearts, and Anatomy of Passion, all of which featured commercially successful soundtracks.
Despite the fact that Alexandra has a great love for indie and alternative directions in music, she intentionally decided to fill “Gossip Girl” with only modern compositions.
Actors of the main caste
Actors for the main ensemble, consisting of nine characters, were selected for several months. The first roles were received by actresses Blake Lively and Leighton Mister - they played Serena van der Woodson and Blair Waldorf. Soon other actors joined the caste, including Pen Badgley, Margaret Colin, Taylor Momsen, Chase Crawford and Keli Rutherford.
A few months after the start of the castings, the producers found their Chuck Bas (Ed Westwick) and Rufus Humphrey (Matthew Settle). The voice of the mysterious gossip was Kristen Bell, who decided to take on the role due to the ongoing rumors about the closure of the series "Veronica Mars". The last actress to join the main cast was Jessica Zor - she played Vanessa Abrams.

That's just her feelings for Nate are gradually cooling off, and her best friend Chuck suddenly begins to seem like something more than just a friend.
- Charles Bass. Chuck has always been a womanizer, breaking women's hearts. Almost all unfamiliar people either dislike him or hate him. Dan has long been in love with Serena van der Woodson, so when she returns to the city, she gathers strength and finally confesses her feelings. Dan has a younger sister, Janie, and father Rufus.
- Jenny Humphrey Fourteen-year-old Janie wants to become popular and successful. However, she is not at all soulless or selfish, like many teenagers of her age. Janie dreams of a career as a famous designer, she constantly sews something and makes her own clothes.
