"The Adventures of Shurik" consists of three separate short stories, which are united only by a common protagonist. In the first, under the name "Partner", Alexey Smirnov also shines.
He plays the role of parasite and boor Fedor, who is faced with the main character in public transport. Between them begins a fight, as a result of which Fed is sentenced to correctional labor and sent to a construction site. Only there another unpleasant surprise awaits him - Shurik again appears on the horizon, who will henceforth be his partner.
Alexey Smirnov starred in many films, but mostly these were episodic roles. "The Adventures of Shurik" became the "finest" hour for the actor. Another of his outstanding works is the role of a mechanic in the military film “Only Old Men Go into Battle”.

Natalia Selezneva first made her debut in the title role in the novel "Obsession", shot for the film "The Adventures of Shurik." Prior to this, the actress starred in only four films and played there either episodic roles, or supporting roles.
The role of Lidochka from the Polytechnic Institute, which unexpectedly became the beloved of the protagonist, glorified Selezneva throughout the Soviet Union. Moreover, it was the novel “Obsession” that took the main prize at the Krakow Short Film Festival.
Immediately after such a successful debut, Selezneva got the main role in the film "Sasha-Sasha." And then there were “Ivan Vasilievich Changes the Profession” of the same Gaidai, “Can't Be” and a whole series of wonderful films with her participation.
Other characters of the novel "Obsession"
The comedy Operation Y and Shurik's Other Adventures, in which the actors played many funny characters, was very fond of the viewer. In fact, the picture was parsed into quotes.
For example, many Soviet students liked to quote a sketch in which the hero of Viktor Pavlov comes to take exams to the professor performed by Vladimir Rautbart. Who does not remember the famous phrase of the professor who exposed his inventive student: “The professor, of course, is a mug, but the equipment is with him”?

Unforgettable for the viewer was the three comedic characters with the nicknames Coward, Dunce and Experienced. These unsuccessful thieves and speculators already appeared in Gaidai’s short film “Moonshiners”, then they mixed the audience with their stupidity in Operation Y, and a little later reappeared in Prisoner of the Caucasus.
The role of the experienced - the leader of the criminal trinity - was played by Evgeny Morgunov ("Young Guard"). The experienced, in the story, only seems to be an intelligent person in appearance, in fact, all his actions say that he is not “seven spans in the forehead”.
George Vitsin, known for his roles in many wonderful films (“The Marriage of Balzaminov”, “Gentlemen of Fortune”), played the role of the Coward in the famous trio. As you can understand by the nickname, this character is an unnecessary ballast in the company: he is constantly afraid of everything and always makes stupid things out of fear.
If the character played by Georgy Vitsin makes nonsense out of fear, then the hero of Yuri Nikulin (“The Diamond Hand”) does so simply because he is a real “dumbass”.
