On this day, the premiere of the series, which can already be called a long-liver among mystical and fantasy films, started. The concept of the project was developed by Eric Kripke. Since childhood, he was fond of urban legends and folklore and decided to create a television series based on them. Work on the plot lasted about 10 years. The concept of the future film was repeatedly changed until Kripke settled on the idea that two brothers would travel around the country and fight evil spirits. Sam and Dean Winchester - the main characters of the series - received a sonorous surname due to Kripke's interest in Westerns. He saw the concept of the project like this: two cowboy strangers arrive in a small town, rid him of the bad guys, drive the girls crazy and leave. Since modern cowboys needed a special means of transportation, another permanent, albeit inanimate character was included in the series - the 1967 Chevrolet Impala .
Initially, they planned to finish the series after season 3, then extended it by another two. But high ratings and huge popularity led to the fact that the history of the Winchester brothers stretched for 11 seasons. We must pay tribute to its creator - they have been able for 11 years to keep the series at a high level and not lower the bar.
Interesting fact: Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles, lead actors, have greatly influenced the concept of the series. Kripke wanted to scare the audience with stories about monsters and characters of urban legends and folklore. Winchester Sam and his brother Dean were supposed to be a link, but not come to the fore. But when the scriptwriters noticed the friendly relations of the actors, who loved to play fun with each other, they decided to simultaneously develop a line of relations between the brothers.

The youngest of the Winchesters had several serious relationships. In college, he met Jessica, with whom he hoped to start a family. But then Dean burst into Sam’s life with the news of his father’s disappearance and a request to help find him. Unable to refuse his brother, he goes with him in search of. Arriving home, Sam finds Jessica killed in exactly the same way as his mother.
