The Transcarpathian nightingale Ivan Popovich became famous not only for his ability to sing and write songs. He is also a talented actor who managed to subdue and fall in love with millions of viewers. In Soviet times, people knew and loved not only his on-screen heroes, but also his wonderful voice, the songs performed by which did not sound except from the irons.
Childhood and youth
Ivan Popovich, whose biography dates back to April 22, 1949, was born in the village of Osoy, located in the Transcarpathian region in Ukraine. After graduating from high school, the young man went to enter the Khust cultural enlightenment school. The education received seemed not enough, and Ivan became a student at the Lviv Conservatory.
Already in his student years, Ivan Popovich, whose photo can be seen in this article, became the laureate of the international youth festival, which was held in Berlin. After a little time, the artist organized his own ensemble, which was very popular in western Ukraine.
In 1988, Ivan's mother died. By coincidence, he could not attend even her funeral, since he himself was in intensive care at that time and was recovering after the operation. After 12 years, he also lost his father.
Moving to Kiev
Ivan Popovich is an actor with a capital letter. But now he is already a recognizable person with an established career. And at the time when he just moved to Kiev, everything was completely different. The capital taught him not only to live, but also to survive. In Lviv, he had absolutely everything:
- glory;
- friends;
- fans
- overseas touring;
- huge apartment;
- car.
At one point it all disappeared. In Kiev, I had to start everything from scratch. Life happened in a small room, where there were only bare walls. This is precisely what prevented the artist from getting sick with a “star disease”. At the time of the move, Ivan was already married. His first wife, Oksana, when she saw the conditions in which she had to live, went back to Lviv. After some time, she filed for divorce.
Popovich was very worried about this, he was hurt and offended. After all, moving to the capital for the artist is a huge professional growth. Later, Ivan admitted that he took a wife from a very poor family, in one dress. He loved her very much and did not refuse her anything, dressed and shoes. Even after the divorce, he left her all his property. And when the artist arrived in Lviv after some time, she did not even let him on the threshold of her own apartment.
Second marriage
Ivan Popovich did not go to singles for long. Together with his second wife Marichka, he worked in the same field. That is how they met. When the artist released the album, the girl was engaged in its implementation. She immediately seemed to him a very reliable person. Ironically, it happened that in the morning Ivan divorced Oksana, and after dinner he filed an application with the registry office with Marichka.
Together with his new wife, the artist settled down in Kiev. They then had nothing to live on, so they had to sell a car. The salary was very small, a young family could not even afford to buy furniture. Somehow gathered on a mattress and slept on it right on the floor.

Despite the fact that the actor had to go through a lot, he took place both as a person and as a professional. Over time, he acquired not only an apartment in the very center of Kiev, but also a chic office. He also owns two houses near Kiev and real estate in his native Transcarpathia. The artist says that in the capital he has very little time for personal life and entertainment. If not for the support of his wife, it would be very difficult for him to cope with all the affairs.
It was her beloved wife in 1990 who gave Ivan a daughter. They called her the Ukrainian name Solomiya. She inspired her father for many creative endeavors. After the birth of a child, Ivan Popovich began to work with renewed vigor; he had a lot of ideas. True, not all of them were able to be realized. The cause of many failures was, again, the material side. Once the artist admitted that the culture of his native people in his country almost does not bother anyone. If you do not have enough money, then no one will be engaged in your projects and promote them to the masses.
Ivan had a lot to go through on his life journey. There were a lot of disappointments and trials. But now the artist is very happy, enjoys every minute spent with family people. Daughter gave Popovich a wonderful granddaughter, who was named Sofia. As before, he is ready to bring joy to the masses with his work. Only now it is becoming more difficult to convey it to people.
