“Keepers of Dreams” is an adaptation of the cycle of books by William Joyce. The story unfolds around those whom all children love: Santa Claus, Tooth Fairy, Easter Bunny.
In the cartoon, these characters are not just images. Each of them lives on its own part of the globe. Days and nights they devote to fulfilling their duties and preparing for the holidays. Their strength lies in the faith of children. When the kids are happy and content, it is impossible to defeat the Guardians.
The plot of the cartoon Rise of the Guardians
The four main Guardians - Northerner, Fairy, Rabbit and Sandman - have been watching for decades that children continue to believe in them. To do this, they prepare gifts for Christmas and Easter, leave coins in place of the fallen teeth, and send happy and vivid dreams every night.
But once on the globe, reflecting the number of believers in the Guardians of children, a shadow appears. The northerner realizes that their main enemy, Kromeshnik, has returned. Without hesitating a second, he collects an emergency meeting of all the Guardians.
While the characters are arguing about whether to take any measures, the Moon-faced intervenes. It shows that Kromeshnik has indeed returned, and the Guardians will need the help of Ice Jack to defeat him.
Characters
In the cartoon “Keepers of Dreams” (2012), voice actors had to try to convey all the emotions that their characters experienced at certain times with one voice. World-famous stars participated in the original dubbing: Chris Pine, Hugh Jackman, Alec Baldwin, Isla Fisher and others.
Ice Jack
In the cartoon "Keepers of Dreams" (2012), actor Chris Pine became the voice of the main character - Ice Jack. His character is little known among children, because almost no one believes in him. Because of this, people cannot see Jack.
But the spirit of winter is of little concern. The only thing a teenager likes to do is bring joy to the children, spreading cold winds, releasing frost, and forming ice slides. But due to the return of Kromeshnik, Jack becomes the Keeper.
The mischievous spirit has to learn to work in a team, be responsible for their actions and fight for the faith of the children. During the war with Kromeshnik, Jack learns that he was once a mere mortal. But he died saving his sister. He spent the last moments of his life under the ice, where the Moon-faced found him.
An interesting fact is that at the time of voice acting Jack in the cartoon "Keepers of Dreams" Chris Pine was thirty-two years old. But the actor did an excellent job and gave Jack a beautiful and expressive voice.
Nick Northerner
The actor Alec Baldwin tried on the image of Santa Claus. His Nick Northerner is the leader of the Guardians. He lives in the north, in a castle built of ice. It is he who monitors the state of things, and the first notices the traces of Kromeshnik on the map.
The creators added several distinctive features to the image of the Severyanin: a strong Russian accent, a love of Russian music, a collection of nesting dolls and an outfit that suits Russian Santa Claus more than Santa Claus.
Easter bunny
Hugh Jackman also took part in the creation of the cartoon Rise of the Guardians. The actor voiced the Easter Bunny - one of the most famous Guardians.
This character was born in Australia, does not like the cold and worries that Easter may fail. A few years ago, he harbored a grudge against Jack due to the fact that he sent a blizzard on the day of his holiday. When children's faith in the Guardians fades away, it turns into a little rabbit.
Tooth Fairy
Actress Isla Fisher gave her voice to the mythical Guardian - Tooth Fairy. Unlike the Rabbit and the Northerner, the fairy works every night. She and her wards need to collect the lost baby teeth every night and replace them with coins.
A tooth fairy collects the teeth of all children in a specially created palace. Lost teeth hold memories that the fairy returns to children at important moments in life.
Sandman
The only character who did not need to pick up the voice of the actor in the cartoon "Keepers of Dreams" (2012) was Sandman. The sandbox can't talk. Instead, he communicates using pictures of sand that he creates above his head. Often the Guardians cannot understand the mime of the hero.
Sandman is the first Guardian. He manages the dreams of children. Using sand creates good and bright dreams. For a long time struggling with Kromeshnik.
Kromeshnik
In the cartoon "Keepers of Dreams" (2012), actor Jude Law acted as the main antagonist of history. Kromeshnik, aka Boogeyman, king of horrors and nightmares. He easily breaks into the dreams of children, instills fear in them and weakens faith in the Guardians.
For many years he accumulated strength to inflict a decisive blow on the Guardians. Kromeshnik even managed to subjugate the golden sand and create an army of monsters from it.
Jamie
The characters of the cartoon "Keepers of Dreams" are quite diverse. But not all of them have any magical powers. One of the key roles went to Jamie, voiced by Dakota Goyo.
Jamie is an ordinary boy who believes in the Guardians. His faith does not weaken even at the time of the attack of Kromeshnik. He is the first to see Ice Jack. Thanks to Jaime, other children again believed in the heroes. This gave the Keepers strength, and they were able to cope with the Boogeyman.
