Amar Suloev is a Russian professional mixed-style fighter . Champion of the Russian Federation in pankration (martial art, Olympic sport) in 1999. The growth of the athlete was 175 centimeters, weight - 84 kilograms. He played in such fighting leagues as UFC, M-1 Global, Pride Bushido, 22 and others. In 2013, he was charged with the murder of Sergei Zirinov. Died on June 27, 2016 from stomach cancer.

Born on January 7 in 1976 in the urban-type settlement Kalinino (near the city of Tashir, the former Armenian SSR). By nationality, Amar is a Yezidi (Kurdish ethno-confessional group speaking the Kurdish language, a Kurmanji dialect). The boy’s childhood was the same as all ordinary children. Amar has not practiced martial arts since the age of six, as is usually the case in the biography of famous athletes. Amar Suloev began to play sports at the age of 17. In 1997, he began to study the kickboxing discipline. The guy quickly caught all the intricacies of this type of martial arts and began to rapidly grow up here.

In the late 1990s, he played for the Legion sports club (Anapa city), where Andranik Ashughyan was his mentor. In 1999, Amar Suloev became the first in the Russian championship in pankration. This victory gave him the opportunity to speak on behalf of the Russian national team at the world championship in val-tudo (full-contact unarmed combat competition with a limited number of rules; this sport gained great popularity in the mid-20th century) in Brazil. It is worth noting that the Russian fighter managed to take home one of the 4 championship belts.

He participated in the UFC twice, where he lost to the Americans Chuck Lidell by decision of the judges (January 2002; UFC 35) and Phil Baroni by technical knockout (May 2002; UFC 37).

His fighting style is an interweaving of skills from kickboxing, Greco-Roman wrestling and judo. Coaching with Fedor Emelianenko, Suloev learned many pain techniques that he used in the future against his opponents in the ring.

Stormy "pension" after a sports career

At the end of his fighting career, Amar Suloev began to engage in entrepreneurship in Anapa. Here he built several cafe-bars, and also opened his real estate agency. In 2013, Suloev was charged with the murder of Sergei Zirinov (a Russian businessman, a former deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Krasnodar Territory). At the same time, he was convicted of attempted murder of Nikolai Nesterenko (Cossack chieftain of Anapa) and his driver Viktor Zhuk. The investigative version of the prosecution suggests that the former athlete was driving a car from which they shot at the victims. Against Suloev, his accomplice Dmitry Sapozhnikov, who worked with him in collusion, however, confessed during the arrest. In turn, Amar denied his guilt, and avoided communication with the press in every way.

On June 27, 2016 at three in the morning Amar Suloev passed away in the Rostov pre-trial detention center, in which he was sitting for three years in the β€œZirinov case”. Over the past year, the convict suffered from cancer - stomach cancer.
