Tatyana Golovin was born in the capital of the Soviet Union in 1988. Her birth took place on January 25, when Tatyana’s day is celebrated. It is for this reason that her parents gave her the appropriate name. In the domestic version, her last name, first name and patronymic look like this: Tatyana G. Golovina. She lived in the USSR for only eight months, and then her family changed her country, moving to France, and the last letter disappeared from the name of the girl.
Start in big sport
In tennis, Tatyana Golovin acquired the status of a professional in 2002. She made her debut at the humble Cagnes-sur-Mer tournament. But nothing outstanding was demonstrated there. In the same year there were other minor championships. There, the tennis player also did not find success.
In 2003, she made her debut in the WTA rank competition, even reached the second round, where Francesca Schiavone beat her.
She also played in one of the four Grand Slam tournaments on the Roland Garros courts, where she flew out in the very first round.
Success in 2004
However, over time, Tatyana Golovin simply hit the world of professional tennis, playing phenomenally at the Grand Slam championships.
At first it was the Roland Garros home tournament. She became his winner, though only in the doubles mixed category with Richard Gasquet.
At that time, she was only 16 years old, and he was 17.
Next was the legendary Wimbledon. There Tatyana Golovin reached the 1/8 finals, where she lost to the favorite of the tournament Serena Williams. Along the way, she sensationally knocked out the most experienced Francesca Schiavone, taking revenge for the previous year.
The third brilliant tournament for her was US Open. Also this year, she reached the final of the tournament in Birmingham, where she was beaten by another rising tennis star, Maria Sharapova.

Health problems
The year 2008 became dark for Tatyana Golovin. At first there were weak performances in Australia, and then health problems started.
In March, she was operated on - a cyst on her hip was removed. After some time, the athlete began to have severe back pain. After a medical examination, the following diagnosis was made - spondylitis, which is why Tatyana did not participate:

The treatment lasted about four months. The girl could speak at the US Open, but her health failed her again. Because of this disease, she had to end her career at age 20.
Some positive point for her was the 12th line in the world ranking. Although she ascended to it only because Nadezhda Petrova missed Roland Garros for health reasons.
Personal life
Tatyana Golovin for a long time had a serious relationship with the football star - Samir Nasri. It was a period from 2008 to 2012.
Then for some time in the girl’s personal life there was a lull. This continued until she met another famous French athlete - Hugo Bonval. Then he was a player in the rugby national team.
After a while, the couple got married. In 2015, Tatyana Golovin became a mother: she had a daughter, who was named Anastasia.
