Extracurricular activities in primary school is one of the important components in the formation of a harmonious personality of a student.

Extracurricular activities in elementary school is a concept that can characterize a wide variety of types of activity, whether it is mental or physical activity. However, any actions that are characterized as extracurricular activity have one thing in common - this is their task.

The objective of extracurricular activities is to educate schoolchildren and their active participation in the process of socialization. It is during these classes that the main positive features of the future personality should be formed in the form of determination and the ability to achieve goals. Thus, extracurricular activities in primary school are a key stage in the formation of the character and behavior of a small person. That is why the activities of primary school teachers are so important and significant in this period, difficult for many children.

There are many different classifications of extracurricular activities for primary school. The following types are often distinguished: gaming, cognitive activities, leisure and entertainment activities, labor activities, sports and recreational activities, and tourist and regional studies, as well as various types of creativity. When organizing such a process as extracurricular activities in elementary school, the teacher should constantly remember that any of these aspects is important for the future development of a healthy and harmonious personality.

Of particular interest to us is cognitive activity. It would seem, why is it necessary if the child is learning so much in the lessons at school, and sometimes the amount of information for him is even too large? However, it must be remembered that the child in his free time must do what he likes, but these activities should develop him, and not slow down his growing up, and in no case should the child spend free time in this activity. That is why research in elementary school is of particular importance as a way to simultaneously teach a child something new and provide him with an exciting pastime. Children should be introduced to the basics of research, taught them to set the goal of the study, step by step to do all the work and come to a certain result. In this way, the child develops logical thinking, the child learns to do the work methodically and consistently, and, in the end, this will introduce him to the form of laboratory work that is often encountered in physics and chemistry classes in high school. Of course, research in primary school will not be able to fully reveal all the talents of future physicists, chemists and mathematicians, but at this stage it becomes clear which child has abilities in the field of logic and consistent methodical work, and who needs to work on it. Another important factor is the child’s interest in such a job: this way you can determine the key to the further interests of the younger student, and there is also a chance to occupy him with an interesting and useful business, which in the future may develop into a serious hobby or even into a profession.

Extracurricular activities in elementary school are very multi-faceted, but there is the most important condition: it should be interesting for schoolchildren. In the absence of interest, with boredom in the classroom, the child loses interest in learning and in cognitive activities, which can lead to big problems in the future. So create, invent, invent, and talk more with children - without all this, it is impossible to organize a fun and entertaining extracurricular activity.
