Childhood and youth

Sergey Tetyukhin was born in 1975. He began to play sports early, and already in childhood it was clear that a good athlete would come out of a guy. The first volleyball team of the player will be “Wings of the Soviets” from the city of Tashkent.

In the early nineties, the situation in Uzbekistan did not help the player to develop his talent. At the age of seventeen, Tetyukhin moved with his family to a permanent residence in Belgorod. There he begins to play for the local Belogorye team. From that moment, a truly professional career of the future legend of Russian volleyball began.

Career

Despite the fact that the athlete began playing back in 1991 in Tashkent, he really managed to open up only after he began to play for Russian teams. However, he had to wait for the first achievements for four whole years. It was in 1995 that Belgorod residents managed to win the Cup of Russia. In the seasons of 1996-1998, Sergey becomes the champion of the country. 1999 was also a significant year for the volleyball player: he won the award for the best player of the season.

In 1999, Sergei left for Italy, where he plays for Parma. At that time, the team had just risen from the second division, and thanks to a good game by Tetyukhin and several other Russian players, the “Parmesans” managed to take fifth place in the regular season. In Italy, the athlete will play only two seasons, after which he will return back to Russia, to Belgorod.

In the future, the athlete will once again become the best player in the championship of Russia and will win many awards.

Almost all the time Tetyukhin will play for teams from Belgorod. Since 2006, he goes to Kazan “Zenith”, where he plays until 2010.

Today Sergey represents the Belogorye team, to which he returned from Zenit back in 2011.

Sergey Tetyukhin is a volleyball player who played a record number of fights for the national team - 307. He made his debut as part of the country's main team at the age of nineteen. It was a youth team, which in 1994 won the continental championship held in Turkey.

For the first time, Sergei played for the adult team two years later, and in this fight the Russian team beat the Japanese. In 1999, Russia won the World Cup, and the player himself became a distinguished master of sports.

In 2002, Russia will win a victory in the World League, and will also take second place in the world championship. After another three years, the athlete decides to take a break and begins to engage in beach volleyball. Here he will achieve success, but at the end of 2005 he will return to big sport. In 2011, Tetyukhin returned and, at the age of thirty-six, went to the World Cup and there, together with his team, won a victory despite the skeptical forecasts of sports observers.

The personal life of an athlete is no less intense than a sports career. The wife of the volleyball player is called Natalia, the spouses have three children - the sons Vanya, Pasha and Sasha. Vanya has followed in his father’s footsteps and now plays for the Belogorye-2 team, which plays in the country's youth championship.

Sergei Tetyukhin is also a deputy of the Belgorod Duma. Thanks to his achievements, he was honored to carry the Olympic torch.
